That's the goal for AQ and the like though. They want to be fighting us because we'll never fight them in a manner that eradicates their ideas and culture. They'll use it as a recruitment tool to get more money, more personnel, more weapons, as regular joe-muslim sees his countries being invaded by christians there to eradicate islam.

And because we'll (at least not foreseeable by me, even though it's what would be required) never actually be there to do that (eradicate islam) we'll never 'win' - they would.

Greek news is reporting that the one attacker's Syrian passport has been traced back to a refugee registration on Leros Island in October. So yeah, the obvious has happened- the refugee surge has been used to infiltrate Europe with terrorists.

Of course this happens right as I'm about to head to Gordon for AIT. If France goes to war then I have no doubt the US is going to follow them as they've been our oldest allies (even if they don't invoke article 5), especially after we dragged them into OIF.
