Confirmed like half a dozen, but that's a lot of kills for 5 people. Wouldn't be surprised if there was more.

Also, there goes absolutely any traction on gun control in America. No way you're gonna get the votes to enact any form of gun control when literally a handful of people can rack up that many kills over so many hours with out any chance of stopping or striking back because the police are just not in the right place at the right time. You think pro gun Americans are loud and vocal now? Just wait...

The problem with the 9/11 wars was that we tried to rebuild/stay as conquerors. Fight the war, take in refugees (and treat them well), gtfo and let anyone left rebuild it. if they manage to scrape together a functional and sane government, great. if not, it's not any different from now. Also, if I were emperor of the world, I'd be aiming pointed remarks at Saudi Arabia and the other sponsor states. Pointed as in "Shape up or you're next."

This event has actually caused me to reconsider the Death Penalty. I had been of the opinion that since we can never truly understand what motivates another human being, we cannot stand in judgement of them and therefore cannot ethically take their life. I have now come to the conclusion that judgement of that sort is not necessary. Murder and gross criminal negligence should carry the punishment of death. No judgement on your value as a person, merely the permanent removal of a threat.

French are now saying eight terrorists died in all of this, seven of them from suicide via explosives.

Current official victim count: 153 (not including the eight dead terrorists, who are anything but victims.)

112 were killed at the Bataclan theater. 14 were killed on Rue Bichat at the site of the Le Petit Cambodge restaurant, in the 10th district. 19 died on Rue de Charonne in the 11th district, outside a bar called La Belle Equipe. Four were killed on Avenue de la Republique, in the 10th district. Four others died outside the Stade de France, in Saint-Denis, north of Paris.

Considering France has pretty much axed anything of the sort during the state of emergency, even if the Bataclan wasn't a blood-soaked horror, there wouldn't be any chance of a show now.
