Supposedly he asked to get surgery on his non throwing shoulder so they immediately put him on injured reserve

Yeah but you don't usually just wake up and decide you need surgery. According to an interview he had on Friday this has apparently been in issue since week 4, yet we never heard anything about it. At the very least it should be suspect as to why the injury wasn't reported.

He knows he's done with the niners after this season, it makes sense he'd want to get the surgery out of the way so he's a healthy free agent.
