MM was a good run even if it's long. For those runs I think it's best to check in and check out at times, or catch some hype stuff on youtubes vs watching the full thing live. Blindfolded 4-player 1 controller Major at the end was hype.

The comments bug me since most refer to someone in their family dying of cancer, let's prevent it, kill cancer, etc. Like, of course I feel bad for those we've lost to cancer (i've lost my share), but I just feel like at times it brings down the room a bit in terms of mood. :< Also when they say "HYPPPEE" or whatever. Just little pet peeves, but overall I've still enjoyed this AGDQ a ton. Last day's gonna be a blast too.

That's how I watch majinphil stream his runs, usually leave it on for background noise and watch it in segments, it is exhausting to watch a 5+ hr run.

Thanks for that, and correct me if I'm wrong please. My exposure to speedruns is just watching people do stuff fast, so this technical stuff is new to me. Essentially this is a way to re-adjust the time? So say Runner A was at 21 frames and Runner B was at 22 Frames, in real time in the game, Runner A would be 21, Runner B at 42. With the rule in place it would be adjusted to make it 21 and 22?

I have a feeling I'm way off seeing that last line and may be misreading things.

It's basically saying that any improvements in level completion time barring the last level, since there is no black screen fade to load the next level, can only be in improvements of 21 frames or higher. Say Person A completed Level 1 in 15 frames and Person B completes it in 10 frames. Both A and B will start the next level on the same frame of N+21 because the game forces the black screen to last the duration until it starts a level on a frame multiple of 21. So even if Person A managed to improve his Level 1 time by 10 frames and Person B had some bad luck and finished it 10 frames later they'd still be on the same time once Level 2 started since A gets rounded to N+21 despite being at 5 now and B is still under the threshold at 20 v. 21.

Everything is a cancer comment, it does depress people yea. I have a couple family members who have fought it, and lost a couple myself. No one take this the wrong way, but i would like to think that not everyone is dealing with this, and people are just doing it to have their comments read. :/ again, no offense to anyone here or on agdq who comments.

I agree on all of this.

First couple days had some real slow periods wherein I had little interest in those games, but there's a reason why some of these games are done every damn time, and it's because the runs are solid. I'm not sure if I'll bother watching FFIV other than maybe the finish, but today's lineup is a great way to finish a great event.

If there's anything a GDQ teaches you, it's that literally everyone on twitch has a family member who just died of cancer earlier today. I'm increasingly convinced that a significant portion of them are faked; it's just absurd how tragic most of these people's lives sound.
