Finally got caught up on Boku Dake ga Inai Machi (Erased)

I had my reservations from the first episode, but it just got better and more deep as it went on.

I liked it but some parts also annoyed me a bit which led to me reading the manga from roughly this episode through the end and a looooot got left out / changed. So looks like the anime is going it's own way with the end of the story, which will probably be unsatisfying.

Erased is 100% going to have an anime original ending, which is total horse shit considering the manga is finished. They had no excuse to change the plot.

Looking at it from the view of someone who's never read the manga, I still think this episode was awesome.

I should have remembered Steins:Gate and what happens when you meddle with the past. Dude ended up in a coma for 15 years and missed his chance with the girl that he gave up half his life to save.

I mean it lives up to the title of the show. "This town without me." He literally gave up his role in the timeline to save the people who had died. Still don't like it though

The manga is a bit darker towards the second half so you start to get the notion that it is not just gonna be sunshinehappiness5ever so I think him losing 15 years fits well with that setting. The anime has done a much worse job of conveying the darker stuff I think, so false sense of security.

I was gonna complain about Active Raid not having a coherent plot (until Ep11), but that seems to be a widespread problem this season (see Haruchika, Pandora, Musaigen, etc)

Also, all these people pissing on Erased because it has a (really awesome) alternate climax/ending. Thanks to you Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu will be AOTS.

The two of them telling the story together? Sukeroku getting back into it! So good. And the preview for next week makes me think it'll easily surpass this week's episode too.

It was a terrible idea to watch Grimgar last night at 2:30am, I could not sleep after! I haven't read the manga/novel? But I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode, can't wait for next week!

Yeah, was probably the best episode of the season, I'd say. Ranta may still be a douche, but got some bonus points this time around.

I don't think Ranta is a douche except when talking to girls, which is the worst of his character. Everything else makes sense and aside from Yumi (at best) no one else has a strong personality.

Ranta carrying the show for me, but this episode was pretty great.
