Heavy Object end was ...meh?

Overall definitely a decent show as a time filler but feels like it needs a second season for anything to actually happen.

Show was always just one step ahead of average. It never aimed for greatness. So makes sense it ended the same way. I think its a lot better watch if you did all stories in the 2-3 episode packs they came in.

Surprised the final one was only 2 episodes since all the ones before it were 3. It felt kinda rushed.

Nothing that is unique to this season has had an end that didnt feel super rushed so far. Idk why.

GATE ending was about as rushed as I expected it to be. It wasn't terrible, but could've been a lot better.

Open-ended (and a certain someone didn't get offed like they should've been), so I guess there's always the possibility of an S2 somewhere in the future.

She and Her Cat managed to give me more feels in 4 episodes over 25 minutes than pretty much any other show I've watched. God damn.

Yeah, everyone should take the 20 minutes and watch this. It's only 4 episodes and they're like 5 minutes each.

This show got a lot better in the last 5 episodes or so. It's split cour so next half is coming later this year probably.

Yeah, I just finished and I don't really know what the character motivations for 80% of the things that happened were. Shizuo tossing Shinra was pretty funny though.

That's the problem when you have 47 concurrent storylines happening at once with a VO constantly just referring to people as "this one" or "that one".

I figure if I was a native moonspeaker it'd be a bit easier to follow, but yeah, no.

It doesn't help with all the gaps in between the cours too. There were honestly a few characters who I couldn't remember who they even were lol

Just watched the final Utawarerumono but never saw the original. Is there any connection between the two series? Is it worth going back and watching at this point or is this a retelling of it?

I'd highly recommend it because they're all based within the same universe. A lot of characters who had minor roles in this season (such as the Inn waitresses that Kuon would refer to as her Mothers/Sisters, and the General (Kurou) that Kuon/Haku fought while in Tsukuru) were key players in the first season/game. The first season actually takes place in Tuskuru itself and explains its founding and the backstory on a lot of people that Kuon considers her family.

The ending would lead to a second season I hope but I've been burned on other anime that have had similar endings that leave stuff unresolved meaning a second season but never came. Hello Maoyu.

Seriously! The show did a lot with four 7-min episodes than a good number of full run shows do in an entire season.

I waited a few episodes for them to explain how they got to this world but it seems like it is just a plot device and is not something the author is going to address, at least not yet.
