An adventurer is only as fierce as their blade. With greater challenges ever on the horizon, the search for greater weapons is seemingly never-ending. Today's preview offers a peek at the anima weapon, whose strength will ensure the tide of battle is set in your favor.





Anima Weapons
A young researcher hailing from the Near East has come to Eorzea in search of aid. His field of study? Anima, an essence he considers to be a reflection of the soul. Through a chance encounter with the master craftsman Gerolt, he and the legendary blacksmith have joined forces to create a weapon the likes of which the realm has never seen.

Well when you have to replace it every half year thanks to vertical progression...yeah...

I'm sad that already this sounds exactly like the first relics. They couldn't even bother to change the story type somewhat?

I'm still looking for the preview of the weapons...all I read was stuff that don't matter. I mean shit even XI showed the damn armor/weapons in the preview tidbit for Aeonic weapons lol. Hope when they say "the likes the realm has never seen" they mean the weapons will actually have more than base attribute and secondary stats.

(yes i know it's flavor text but it's a damn expansion and 2 years later it's time to evolve.)

Hopefully these weapons would be a tiny bit more unique (has special properties), but I doubt it.

Can anyone find that interview from 2013 with Yoshi-P saying that they made 2.0 with a very limited budget and hoping to break even with something like 50k active players or some ridiculously small number like that.

Now they keep boasting about that 5M players thing like a 5 feet dick.

Hopefully these weapons would be a tiny bit more unique (has special properties), but I doubt it.

First forms for sure won't be anything unique, if only for the reason I think anything special beyond base stats would be held till 2.2 when materia changes and any stat changes needed because of them are done.

It's almost like they don't realize how poorly the perception of them is among anyone who isn't a whiteknighting piece of shit. These content delays and the lack of having anything resembling a weapon model to show after a 1.5 month delay? lol

Assuming those dark "shadowlord steel" MCN/AST/DRK weapons we were shown ages ago are the Anima weapons, they aren't even going to be unique to each job this time. They're just a run of the mill themed shitfest.

They always used the Relics to make people go back to dying content so I'm guessing Bismarck EX and Lord of Verminion.
