SCH BLM GEO magic burst gear

What's a typical setup without involving reisenjima gear? Not including those because I'm specifically trying to farm them to begin with. My group have melee setup available, but want to fall back on mage setup in case melee is inconvenient.

Mix of helios/mab gear?

helios band/hand/feet, and then make up whatever mb off of the 40% cap with mizukage/seshaw/static/locus (last 2 being the most easily replaced if capped)

Mujin Band and Amalric hands do not count toward the 40% cap, so get your 40% on gear elsewhere.

I don't have amalric but vexed is cheap enough that I can go farm abj for it. Also, does the SCH gift "Magic Burst Damage Bonus" count towards the cap?

Gifts surpass the 40% limit.
Also you can achieve 40% without too much difficulty on merlinic head/body/legs/feet, especially for SCH since akademos gives you 10% in main slot.
With dark matter I've personally hit +13% magic burst damage on merlinic shalwar, and without it I've seen +11%.

basically sounds like you want sound options to tide you over until merlinic gear, but don't currently have amalric. Basically right where I was when I took a long break at the end of summer when the Ru'Ann update came out and I took about a 6 week break or so.

A well augmented helios set will carry you far with int, macc/mab, and a mix of magic burst bonus and occult acumen for 3rd option.

Abjuration for Amalric hands comes off of Met, a Tier I Escha Ru'Ann that with the right trusts is BLM or SCH soloable with the gear you'll have. Spam away.
