Patch 3.25 Notes:

[3.0] A new anima weapon story quest has been added.

Players will be able to enhance the strength of their anima weapons by completing this quest.

Quest : Finding Your Voice
Required Level: Disciple of War or Magic level 60
Location: Azys Lla (X:7.4 Y:11.5)
NPC: Ardashir

Players must first complete the quest "Coming into Its Own" and have an anima weapon in their possession.
* Please consult and exchange information with other players as you progress to learn how these weapons are enhanced.

- Class/Job-specific Quests
Anima Weapons quests employ a system which will require players to proceed using the same class or job with which they accepted the quest.

You need to obtain 5x Aether Oil to complete the quest. Aether Oil can be obtained from doing CT/ST/WoD Weekly quest picked up from Koh Rabntah, near Mor Dhona Aertheryte. You can also purchase it from Hismena in Idlyshire for 1,800 Esoteric Tomes.

They upgrade to i230 - no materia slots, but both secondary stats are "capped" rather than being 1 high 1 low.

Yeah it does and don't worry if you were sitting on it you can't grab another one to double up. Beast Tribes this isn't. All in all pretty easy and if you don't have a i210 Anima weapon you can still do the weekly and get 300 poetics on top of it.

I think it resets on a tuesday - its the same quest that you could do back when WoD came out to get an upgrade item and an Allagan Catalyst.

Dang I didn't get this far yet (lolcasual). I hope maybe I can buy the item using my Eso without having to have the quest complete.

However, I am pleased that I can now finally obtain my WoD pet.

And, I'm not too impressed (but expected) that once again old content is used to make the relic.

It's a tiny bit depressing that this game has you level up, unlock and obtain all these wonderful gear and abilities, then "forces" castration/neutering on you. It's so jarring that you have to go back to 2.x rotation.

The only good thing I get out of this is being able to play BRD and move around like a chicken.

I guess it comes down to what would be an efficient way of getting eso after you go HAM on CT. Probably Bismarck/Ravana EX farming for bird is best use of time.

Oooh, I didn't think about that, I should grab some gear for my BRD and go back to playing the old fun way one day a week :D

Yeah, it would be nice to speed run them with level 60's, that said I guess I can go on alt classes and get Exp. That said, if you got 24 people in a premade alliance, could you do it unsynced?

That is likely while this relic step is so easy. Its inferior to the 230 law weapon out the gate

The substats are capped though. I have a feeling that during 3.3, they will not only let you change the substats around, but also allow it to be meldable as well. This patch seems to be more of one that's allowing people quick i230s weapons before 3.3.

Not to mention Lore weapons become available to everyone who's been diligently doing A8N Next week. If anything this allows people to have their choice in sub stats (Rather than just being stuck with Sephirot Ex weapon).

They've been saying they were looking at making CT worthwhile to run again. I guess they got their way. Wonder what will happen come patch 4.0.

The Undersized Party option can only be used for the following duties
2.X dungeons / 2.X Trials / Binding Coil of Bahamut / Second Coil of Bahamut / Final Coil of Bahamut

Not for tanks, who get stuck with parry on all the lore weapons.

Its not in some cases. The stats are both capped. If you was to have an i230 law Monk weapon that was High Crit, Low Det (I know its not that stat) even with 2 materia slots it would be inferior to a High Crit High Det relic. And the relic is better in some cases when you want to avoid dud stats (e.g. Parry on Tanks, Skillspeed on Monk) or get priority stats (Crit on Bard and Monk).

The main thing it hurts are healers who can't meld accuracy onto it, and they can just get the lore weapon, and classes that have a better stat combination for their Lore weapon.

Midan >>>>> Augmented Lore > Relic > Lore


Skill speed is pretty bad on PLD since the job has a strict rotation and Goring clipping is a big concern.


PLD gets put in shitty positions due to Sword and shield sharing stats but always split between 4 stats. If sword has Det/SS, shield has Crit/Parry.

the Ast lore weapon is terrible i'll be going with relic and making up the accuracy by overmelding a ring.

Is that due to having crit on the relic rather than spellspeed? Or is it due to the capped secondaries meaning you'll get more PIE? Or both? I've no idea what stats are preferred for AST.
