an offshore company that apparently aims to run an online platform for money matches (e.g., unregulated gambling). nobody knows who the actual principals of the company are, what kind of funding they have, or what their business model is. a website naming a guy called scotty tidwell that nobody has ever heard of until said page came into existence isn't exactly inspiring.

but hey, they recruited a few big names from the FGC who are obviously credulous and probably don't even understand the basic concept of due dilligence, but also those dudes are pretty popular, so hey, avyd must be the real deal!

I have no idea wtf Avyd is/does either but they're probably the ones cutting my check and the people involved with them do have way more business sense than you're giving them credit for. Keep in mind that these are guys that have spent the last several years dumping tens of thousands of dollars into running events, and by all accounts have held the actual best-run ones(CB, CEO, etc)

Lots of people hate Flash. Has he ever paid back those thousands of dollars he owed people? I seem to remember him having to go to court because of it.

He lost that case because he never showed to court (because he is retarded and ruined his future) so he will have to pay it all back even if it comes to wager garnagement, once he actually has a paycheck.

Also, the short of it: Flash made top 8 at UFGT/CB like last year or the previous and dropped from tournament/got kicked out after he and Keits got into a shouting match. Keits talked shit about him and vice versa for a long time in social media after.

iirc they got into a shouting match because despite being in the venue within earshot and getting called over the PA several times he didn't come check in then got DQ'd then got mad about that.

that's a fair point, and a poor criticism on my part.

i am still absolutely convinced that the whole avyd thing is going to end poorly though, lol. for the sake of everyone who's got a lot more personal investment in these events than i do, i certainly hope i wind up being wrong. just make sure to give the check plenty of time to clear!

Anybody else following the first SF Crash season? Semifinals were Sunday, and the second match was not that bad. Teams + production value = a quality viewing experience too. Doesn't hurt that Nin's commentary game is strong, especially for a guy who is only famous for Tekken.

SFV Crash's commentary quality has been all over the fucking place. The first couple of sessions were god awful. Matches have been decent though.

I am dying so hard right now lol, CB was probably the best tournament I've ever been to but we put in some pretty insane work hours. There'll be an announcement for a cool new tourney series thing happening tomorrow.
