Has anyone found a decent VOD of the ESPN broadcast?

Of course it's not one person. That wasn't my point at all. My point was it's stupid to clump together part of the community that are total shitlords with the rest who aren't. That's why I brought up Noel and what Aris did in the past; people got so pissed when you put Noel together and acted like the whole FGC doesn't respect women and are scumbags, and how Kotaku covers the FGC only when bad shit happens. That's what's going on here to an extent, but it's whatever.
And ya, that Hyuga guy.. holy shit. That whole thing is just absolutely crazy. That'll teach him to get shitfaced drunk like that.
@Viq: I haven't yet, no. Think they reaired it again on ESPN3 along with some other esport shit, but I'm not sure. I'm sure it'll pop up somewhere.
No, you couldn't; Sunday this year was at a completely different venue with different tickets.
Friday/Saturday were at the Las Vegas Convention Center (?), Sunday was at Mandalay Bay.
I mean, if you want to make that argument, fine, but if you are playing only top 4 then you will likely get your soul snatched by people who are playing some combination of those ten (and I forgot Iron Man who is stupid in current meta; Iron Man is basically the Firebrand+Skrull of MVC2 now).
MSS, Rowtron, and Cableguy are competent teams, but if you're going to tell me they are better than Duc's or Clockw0rk's teams, I'm going to disagree, and if you're going to say they are as good as Santhrax, Matrix, or MSP, then you're crazy.
I'm just tired of people saying that characters that are a critical part of a team somehow "don't count" in MVC2. Being able to actually play Cyclops, Commando, or Psylocke really matters and makes a significant difference, because you essentially have to play one of them.
I think this is the part that irked me, had i not competed and wanted to get a sunday only spectator ticket, it woulda been sold out because meleefags took half the arena. Hell even seats were empty during sf5. You don't just go to a WWE event like raw just to sit for 10 minutes because AJ styles or John Cena is wrestling, then leave because nothing else interests you, you wasted the ability for someone else to stay the 3 hours! Coulda watched it on TV if that's all you care about. That's pretty much the bad taste that the melee community left a lot of people. Just disrespectful, but call me OG, i woulda stayed for all the games and take the occasional pee break, even if they bore me. I call it respect for the game, and getting my money's worth.
I play MSP and pretty much only MSP for 15 years. I'm not going to argue with someone who likes MvC2 because finding those people in today's FGC is rare compared to people who accept the trash we have now.
Yes, you could say Rogue or Tron are "good" because a couple of people use them and made it far in tournaments, but they rarely if ever won a damn thing. Damn, now I'm getting flashbacks to when Blackheart was good lol.
Juggernaut glitch 4 lyfe
Note that I didn't say Rogue or Tron, though. And nearly everyone who is any good plays Cyclops, Commando, or Psylocke, so it's not like they are niche cases.
I included Spiral because she has two world titles from Duc (which is more than Magneto, who only has the one win from Yipes) and I included Strider/Doom because I think Clock has done enough for long enough to warrant it... and I think most people would agree that Strider has some of the best matchups in the game, but has the (significant) drawback of near-zero margin of error.
I think Spiral and Strider are the two characters in the game that most exemplify the position of if you don't make mistakes, you WILL win (even if your opponent does the same). Honestly, I think Magneto is at the opposite end of the spectrum, where your entire gameplan is basically dependent on your opponent having poor defense. I think that's also a major reason why Magneto only has one Evo win ever.
ESPN2 broadcast pulled in an average of 200k. So between that and the twitch numbers across various streams probably a good half million viewers.
Watched the espn2 thing and Seth always bringing the hype no matter the game... unless it's one of those party games pedos like to play :kappa:
Does Seth actually do commentary outside of Evo? I swear it's the only event I see him show up at.
For an unproven commodity (fighting games on TV) it's quite good. Relatively comparable to other Esports stuff that gets shown on TV, and it was in a fairly awkward time slot and competing against Yankees vs Red Sox
