Yeah I think I'll restate my earlier statement of I think it's less 2016 being a bitch and more I'm finally old enough to give a shit about the famous people that die all the time T_T.

This was written 11 days ago, so the total for this year is at least 50% higher than last year so far.
I think it's more prevalent because the celebrities dying are mostly baby boomers.
Little did we know back in Janaury that Alan Rickman was merely the first victim of 2016's killing curse.
I don't think there's any real common age of death though. A lot were between 60's and 90's, though even that's too large a gap to call em all baby boomers, but several in their 50's and Chyna in her 40's, Anton Yelchin @ 27.

Oh shit, that ducks. What will happen to star wars, a new death star killing her off screen
Or they end with a funeral where she died from grief.
I'm so sad.

Richard Adams, author of Watership Down, dead at 96
Poor Chewbacca. Lost Han, lost Leia, Luke missing for decades, Kylo Ren turned evil. Truly one of the curses of being a long lived species.
Just saw that Fisher passed, 2016 officially one of the worst years of all time.

Celebrity as far as restaurants go.
Carnegie Deli, dead after 80+ years open.
That's a shame.
I feel like this was the last big middle finger from Death for this year.
Damn it this sucks!! I was spending time with family for the hoilday so I couldn't comment when she had the heart attack but I was hoping against hope she would make it through. I thought maybe they were exaggerating her condition cause the media tends to make a big fuss whenever a celebrity gets hurt or has to go into the hospital. Then just yesterday I saw on the news her mother said she was in "stable condition" and I was like, "Whew, she's probably going to be ok." So when I heard the news today it came as a big shock. I always felt a little sorry for Carrie Fisher because of her difficult personal life and her stuggles with adiction. She always seemed really strong to me though and would crack jokes in interviews. That's something I really liked about her.
I didn't see anyone post reaction from Mark Hamil or her other co-stars so here's a couple:

I thought I had got what I wanted under the tree. I didn't. In spite of so many thoughts and prayers from so many. I am very, very sad.
