So how about just raising the long gun age from 18 to 21 across the board like what is in place for handguns. Why should someone just out (or still in) high school be able to purchase a shotgun or semi-auto, but are deemed too young to own a pistol?

Minimum Age for Gun Possession: Subject to limited exceptions*, federal law prohibits the possession of a handgun or handgun ammunition by any person under the age of 18. Federal law provides no minimum age for the possession of long guns or long gun ammunition.

Ban Hand guns and assault rifle long guns. Keep hunting rifles and shotguns. If they did this, I would be ok with teachers having a shotgun in class.

Can't without changing the 2nd amendment. Washington D.C. had a hand gun ban but it was struck down by the supreme court.

However, universal background checks, gun registration, assault weapon bans, and waiting periods for handgun purchases at the federal level would reduce, perhaps significantly, gun deaths.

You don't need to change the 2nd amendment, just how it's interpreted by the court. Put different people on SCOTUS and you'll get a different answer.

Yeah, they trolled Berniebros into not voting for the best chance to advance their interests in Washington. I wish more news outlets talked about the now facts that Russia targeted Bernie demographics as much as Trump. I'm extra peeved Bernie hasn't made a single mention of how his amazing ground swell of support in the primaries and after is a result of a foreign nation shilling for him so that the party he doesn't belong to could lose an election.

I am for universal background checks, I personally have sold guns in legal face to face deals, but I think that would solve a lot of issues. I’m not too hip on registrations on things and that’s going to need some government funding they don’t have the manpower for the NFA workload as is. I’m not to hip on AWB either, but if the age was elevated or a waiting period or putting it in the NFA group I wouldn’t mind.

How do you all feel about magazine capacities? Using a standard 30 rounder for my 458 socom I can only fit 10 rounds in it, which if they don’t get grandfathered in all my at magazines are getting 458 socom stickers
