This came up on my own google feed as well. Think the reason things look to be different this time is that the victims were all young but who have access to Social Media and basically have had enough of the NRA's Ignorant BS to actually move to do something about this.
I would honestly agree with them there needs to be more gun control in the US from what I can see because all these incidents seem to have become more common in the last decade or 2. Gun advocates cant hide from the fact that the US has a far disproportionately high gun death rate compared to the next country in line (canada)

Data is a few years back but still.... just makes the case that Canada is the sanest place on the North American Continent (apart from that other PC stuff but thats another thread entirely!). US needs to fix its priorities or at the very least leave gun control exclusively under the remittance of the individual states. :S
How do you all feel about this: according to my state’s law, anyone with a ccp bypasses the nics background checks. The only records of my purchases are on a piece of paper.
Emma Gonzales now has more Twitter followers than the NRA and has organized a protest in D.C. on March 24th.
Hard for me to be jealous of a kid for amassing so much political clout so quickly when she got there because 17 kids were shot to death.

I would say fair play to the girl for not taking this lying down. Its bad enough that she nearly could've died because of that retard with a gun but what probably makes it worse is that theres has been calls for something to be done about this crap for years but politics and special interest groups refuse to move or even have some sense and block even common sense measures because having a Gun = my rights > peoples lives. Eventually something has to give and someone will stand up and basically rip into the NRA's and other's ignorant bullshit and hammer home the point that right to life > right to have a gun.
This might finally be the time something gets done about this. As the old saying goes "the straw that broke the camel's back" this might be a gamechanger. People seem to have had enough of this crap happening over and over. Republicans may want to take note because I believe they have an abysmal rating in the younger voter brackets of something like 2-1 voters who would vote Democrat before Republicans. Give that 10-20 years and they could be tanking massively down the line for their stupidity and brandead support of ignorant stances.
Also as for arming teachers the Glorious Samuel L. Jackson has a something to say about that....

You are attributing something that hasn’t even happened yet. When a large amount actually goes through with it, then I’ll care. Unfortunately, they are failing to have foresight and are scrambling to get funds up. Outside of her being the current media darling, I doubt many others will attend due to there obligations and lack of funds. I’d also like to see how she votes when she actually can register to vote, if she even bothers to register and get out to the polls.

Over here in reality they've almost reached their fundraising goal of $2.8M in 6 days with over 30,000 donations so far. They might be over it now because Gucci donated $500,000 to them today.

How much longer until FNH pulls a griggle and calls them crisis actors.
Frankly I'd just call them opportunistic attention mongers who think they're doing good because they're young and idealistic. They're still wrong, but then plenty of people never really grew out of that phase as evidenced by the shrill cries echoing through the internet today. I just don't understand how people are identifying the force multiplier as the problem rather than the behavior itself. Only thing I can figure is that it comes from emotional thinking rather than rational thought.
