Are you sure about every 3rd turn? None of the other fights were regular cape changes to my knowledge.

Dunno he seemed to counter a lot even with his cape out.

His entering seems random too.

He counters whether he's in his cape or not. When he doesn't have his cape up it's just single target, when he's in his cape it's an AoE

Went 1/1 with my new setup, I think all I was missing before was Magic Breakdown. With MBD, Shell and Wall his counter Firaga's were only doing ~700 damage. Sometimes he did a triple cast of Firaga (or maybe it was Inferno's), don't see it mentioned on KBP, anyone else get that? KBP says sometimes follow up first action with Inferno, so I thought it'd only be twice?

I'd say he usually goes into his cape every 3 turns, but sometimes it can take longer. One time it took him 5 turns and it threw me off a bit.

Re: triple inferno

He can follow up with an inferno after any attack as an interrupt, including off of inferno itself. He can do up to 5 in a row (maybe more but no one has reported it)

Even with SG, Boon and magic break down it does 1.3k to everyone, I can't survive without aoe heal

Pretty straightforward strat. First to fill ATB gauge hits SSII, Lenna hits Shellga, Red hits Lunatic High. Red follows with 1 Full Break then 2 MBD, then repeat. Zidane uses Steal Power to buff, then reapplies when Rubicante goes into cape mode. Use AoE heal from Lenna when needed, refresh SSII and LH at halfway mark.

In hindsight I would have brought Rydia instead of Cloud, or at least Blizzara Strike rather than Drain Strike. Going into the fight, I didn't realize that Steal Power pushes him out of cape mode, I just use it normally because it provides good damage. After Rata told me that it made it much easier. Rydia would have pushed out more damage as I have her Ice Whip, plus Golbez was hitting 9999 while Cloud was hitting around 7100.

Should be able to without him, but since events tend to give enough eggs to get a char to 42 or so, I don't see why all the resistance for non-bonus battles.

Well the main issue is that the event is asking you to level 3 characters rather than 1 this time. I already hate having to level 1 character to bring them along. I'd rather save my eggs for characters I actually want to use, not ones I'm being forced to use for one-off fights.

Can probably get away without Rosa I guess.

Rosa is useless.

What I'm finding is that RNG is key. It's just so random how the fight starts. If he decides to not throw out counters, it's easier.

Otherwise, Inferno multiball can suck it.

Rosa is pretty good for the fact she can use breakdowns (so can Yshtola) but Rosa has RS so

Rosa doesn't have Wall, my Y'shtola does. Therefore, to me she is useless.

Edward capped at 50 is more useful to me (and he was).

I wish we had Spellblades that could use Support 4+. Then I'd have someone to plug in Edward's place to dole out some damage.

Well you didn't said that hte first post, you said Rosa is useless, and i showed you she's not.
