Low synergy ... but a far cry from low level gear
Very true. Though honestly I should have used the extra helmets for augment fodder considering how little extra magic a 7* gives.
P Cecil was also one of the first events that came to Global, so anyone playing from the start probably has him over 50.
and don't forget the orb fest (not the xmas one) where EXP was raining
Rubicant Ultimate can eat the biggest dick... keep wiping at like 5%
Beat it finally, took me like 10~ S/L.
Rubicante is rough, I can't keep up with all the healing I need to do even with full mitigation (SG, Shell, Full Break, Magic BD) and an AoE heal I just keep getting someone killed with Rubicante at about 10-15% life left.
If ExDeath was adjusting to the difficulty spike and Yunalesca was learning the pattern and controlling the pace of the fight, Rubicante is definately preparing for every possible pitfall.
I had issues getting set up at first, then learning when was the best time to reset SS and breaks. It took me a lot of resets and I finally broke down and mythril'd it just to save up SB charges. Yhstola's Medica was not strong enough oftentimes if he didn't space out his counters followed by AoE. Boon was my RW, but I wouldn't have had as many problems with when to reapply buffs/breaks if I had HotF or another heavy regen. Haste was almost a detriment for the first 80% but so worth it for the last 20%.
If you've got the -ja hones, mage strats have easier times getting to 9999 over Spellblades since I didn't have room to atk buff. Having that damage control makes timing that 50% behavior shift so much easier.
Rubicant was almost a healing check too.
Did it 1/2 with this setup, which is almost an exact Tyrath copy (So thank you very much!). The first time, someone died at the very end but I killed him anyway(some non regen aoe cure RW), second time went in with Hymn and had no issues. Really thought I would have a tougher time because I was terrible at predicting when his cape would go up and would just sit there and do nothing with steal power ready to go until he did, but I'm shocked it was fine.

Man, I had him down under 5% and got greedy and tried to sneak in one too many attacks before his cape went up I fucked it up.
More than anything Rubicante was an experience in turn counting and being patient to me. He took me the least amount of tries out of all the Ultimates so far.
I slowed him down to 1 to try to count properly the second try. It helped me, but like I said, I would think that it's time for the cape to go up and I would just sit on steal power for a long time. I thought I was going to lose a metal to actions taken ( I'm not entirely sure what makes you lose those metals) but it worked for me. Yeah, patients was key.
Everything is easier after you cleared it
I never had issues with counting turns, it was just too much damage hitting me at <20% unless I had Wall + Shell + Breakdown + Near Full HP
