Maybe its just my synergy in most cases speaking, but I've never ever thought of using Defend in any fights unless it requires it >_>

Ok, how about another example, in that 3 turns that Gau was auto-attacking, he could have gotten off a Chainstarter > Full Charge combo and a half for more dmg (we get both of those for free next event btw).

Chainstarter+Full Charge is a great combo, you guys just hatin. Gau doesn't have the highest stats, but they aren't even close to Tyro levels of awful and everyone loves that fuccboi for some reason. 11 less atk than the #1 (Sephiroth). ooo so bad.

His SBs are pretty shit tho until Meteo

People typically only bring tyro if they have sentinel grimoire or if it's something specific as he's a jack of all trades guy.

Reason everyone loves Tyro is he is flexible and able to fill any role, which is what 9 times out of 10 you are looking for in a party when preping to fight Ult/Ult+/Ult++ levels of content, not to mention his SG SB and BSSB are some god tier levels of Buffs. Main reason why Gau is being "picked on" is he isn't flexible, he only has Combat 5 and Celerity 5, so all he can really do is DD, which most characters can already do, not to mention his new SB isn't really that great since it limits his actions to a random target lightning attack for 3 turns. I loved Gau in FF6, but its not gonna make me look at his FFRK character and say its "good".

Idk, he's one of 3 or 4 characters that can even do the Chainstarter combo, that's enough to make him useful in my book. Now if you want a shit tier character, behold the mockery that is Ricard

FF2 characters get massive buffs though once we get the Firion BSSB event, likewise with FF3 characters with Onion Knight's introduction and you are right, Gau is one of 5 characters that can do the combo (Tyro, Tidus, Lightning, Zack are the other 4).

I retract what I said about Gau's Gigavolt Rage. I misread the text and thought the 4 AoE Lightning attacks also happened the next 3 turns. -_-;

Did the half pull SSB banner on JP and of course as always, got only 1 SSB and it was Balthier's stupid gun (its a good SB, but there were much better ones I could have drawn), I swear I have the worst Lucky Pull luck, think the only good SB I got from it was Faris' ATK/MAG down from the support banner from long ago
