Fran's SSB is decent, though being full breakdown, it merely replaces full break with a marginally better effect. Not exactly game changing, especially when compared to her regular SB shatterheart (AoE atk/mag breakdown that stacks with breakdowns and full break). Sazh's SSB is bottom tier unfortunately.

7* plat sword is a good idea imo with how infrequent FFT events are (only 1 more FFT event due in the next 5 months), and will give you a very respectable 143 ATK, or 160 ATK if you max the augment on it, making it viable in realms you might be lacking in synergy weapons.

I picked up the Artemis Bow which I guess is the same as Fran's, only with less hits, but that's still pretty cool.

It's excellent actually, her bow is Full Breakdown and not Full Break, on top of the atk and mag down on her burst commands. Plus, you can keep it up full-time. Thus, she can singlehandedly do full breakdown, power breakdown, magic breakdown, armor breakdown and mental breakdown.

yup. i usually just give her armor breakdown and thief's revenge, you can also use wrath if you have multiple SB's for her but it's a bit awkward to use since it overwrites shout.

What's funny is I completely autopilot this game, which is what I imagine most people do. I have a bunch of characters to 65, with some decent gear and a few SSB's from lucky pulls, but I have no idea what to do past this. I get completely bodied by most things at difficulty 90 or higher. I suppose I could go into the beginner's guide, but for a mobile game, that's far too much work lol

Exdeath SSB (dark earthshaker) and a 4 star IV armor. That's my second enelement and my second unique V soul break (other also being a caster item). Go V CMs mage meta?

This sounds about right, auto-battle to the 90/99 fights, then the fun and stratagies begin.

...although, its getting to the point where level 1-90 fights are annoying. Currently, I use them to level folks from that realm but after last orbfest there is hardly anyone left to level.

Does the game eventually allow you to skip some of these? I would obviously still do the battles that awarded mythril and rare orbs - but having to do all of them to unlock the battles I want to get to... will eventually become more annoying.

Brutal sanction is not horrible. Multi Hit Holy with a chance to interrupt. It's better then his earth damage one.

Brutal sanction inflicts stop, which is a very rare vulnerability on endgame bosses, and may as well just spam the stop spell on the few endgame bosses that allow it. It ends up just being a generic multi hit damage sb.
