After nine 11x rolls, the only SB relic (of any kind) I got was Ramza's armlet. It took me another three to get the Platinum Sword and Grand Armor. So basically, twelve 11x rolls got me all of Ramza's SBs, but none of Agrias'.

I would've stopped at any of the featured SB relics except the armlet, so initially, I laughed at how horrible my luck was. It was a 0.2% chance to not hit any of the four desired relics in 99 rolls, based on expected rates.

But then after I read about the rates, yea, I was a little pissed. Still laughing a little because even with the decreased rates, my luck was still incredibly bad (1.75% chance with the lowered rates). So I certainly wouldn't mind a partial refund of some kind. But I'll take publicizing all rates from now on as well.

Especially when you're talking about 8% down to 5%. That's a 37.5% decrease.

Can you imagine if they said they were reducing wall duration from 25 seconds to ~15 seconds. Because that's the same level of decrease.

It's more like we know, for example, that it adds 100% DEF/RES and one day you suddenly start taking double damage, so you complain and they try to tell you it hasn't been altered despite overwhelming evidence showing it has.

Not having native shout hurts but not as much as I thought. Most annoying thing is that I pretty much only need Shout now and could technically just unfollow everyone else since I hat native trinity. Having Ramza to do stone throws also help.

As someone who has physical meta'ed since the beginning, I can't believe how many people used mage meta to begin with! Everyone was always saying Ultimates were difficult and I couldn't understand it as I was curbstomping them all in 0-2 S/L's.

Like I understood for people who didn't have the parts to make physical meta work. But lots of people did have them and still opted to mage meta.

I curb stomp dungeons on the regular with my mage meta. It's just amazing to watch my melee parties tear through shit now.

Never really struggled but that's probably more the whaling and luck from the whaling I did than anything meta related..

Available melee abilities have also improved a lot compared to like a year ago. Launch is a decent 3 star, as is Tempo Flurry. The samurai skill set is decent for AoE DPS and some utility depending. DRGs aren't so lol now that they basically get some spellblade jumps. Everyone's nutting over Lifesiphon now, too. This is one of those reasons why people used Retaliate early on as abilities either didn't exist or were too costly. Few orbfests and a number of events later, not so much.

Meanwhile, mages weren't especially hurting for damage. Firaja/Thundaja/Blizzaja were either always there or came around pretty quickly. Presuming a mob didn't resist/absorb, okay gear would still net some solid damage without weakness procs. Ruinga didn't get a whole lot of orb competition, either, which made it a fairly economical option for trash clearing or the occasional multi-mob elite/ultimate. Heck, I remember pining over Quake and earth orbs being a pain to get prior. The -gas also weren't bad with weaknesses since, at the time, fights really weren't cracking 100 difficulty all that often. Sleep/Reflect nuking was also a viable form of cheese to avoid counters or generally shut down viable mobs.

Until we get good multi-hit nukes, though, it's hard not to see melee being the go to for a while. Especially if someone can field their own Ramza. Sure, Esper Meteor procs are yummy, but that's still only a little shy of 20k tops. Can't really say I have enough experience with damaging mage SSBs, though, to compare them to stuff like Crushing Blow or True Sword of Legend.

Unrelated, Tifa needs to poop out her fist damage RM so I can swap her out for someone who could actually gain EXP.

Problem with mage SSBs is they can't be used as often as physical ones (no lifesiphon equivalent), and their multipliers only end up being 1.5-2x that of a -ja nuke, so you basically need MAG buffs out the ass for them to really shine by taking advantage of the higher damage cap on them.
