Tornado Strike came from a collab that we're skipping. It'll likely be added to the crafting page anyway but we all remember the Saga abilities right?

Hyper Evolve data is out now for data miners, its an additional upgrade to ANY star rating gear using new crystal materials, so 5 stars can go up to 8 stars now, 4 stars to 7, 3 stars to 6, etc. No confirmation if it has to be double combined to max in order to upgrade though.

In the future, there will be 9 out of 58 U/U+ bosses that have a resistance(5), null(2), or absorb(2) of Wind damage. Considering Tornado Strike has a damage ceiling double that of Flare Strike, I'd say it's worth the tradeoff. It's a similar thing to Saint's Cross, the exact same number of targets will resist(4), null(2), or absorb(3)(=9) Holy damage, and yet it's still a very valuable 5* ability. Can always make both Flare and Tornado if you plan to use a 5* spellblade for absolutely everything and thus want something that works on those 9 wind resistant bosses, but it doesn't really seem worth the orbs to me, especially with Faultsiphon/Full Charge looming ever closer.

I have a very strong suspicion that we may be seeing Tornado Strike + Faris MC2 either as drops or as additions to the crafting list/Hall with the Gilgamesh event coming up.

Hoping the hyper evolve mats are somewhat plentiful, would make 3 star gear relevant again since maxed out it would be on par with where base 5 relics are atm.

A few questions:

1. On the topic of 5 star abilities, I am missing Flare/Flare Strike, Barrage, Entrust, Holy, Odin, Quick Hit, Exploding Fist and Mug Time. Are any of these critical? I already have Full Break, Meteor, Bahamut, Thief's Revenge, and Saint's Cross at R2. All others currently at R1. Debating on making Barrage vs Honing Flashing Blade. I've gone from MPO starved trying to get Full Break up to not sure where to spend them now. I have 25 MPO and 50 MWO and no idea what to spend them on. Holy doesn't seem all that useful as Diaga tends to cap already.

2. I have an MC2 sitting in my pool and I still have P.Cecil, Aerith, Tifa, Lulu and Auron in the hall of rites left to unlock. I do not have a unique soul break for any of them, despite my best efforts. Any one critical? Or just wait on lucky banners and see if I get something? Gilgamesh tends to be my go to for Tauntilate since I have his Death Claw soul break and he can use spears giving me more synergy options over Auron.

I think I might just make Flare Strike for that purpose, since I have Celes and a lot of power orbs.

1. None of them are particularly useful except quick hit (way too hard to hone) and exploding fist (not great).

2. Tifa has a 20% fist damage RM, auron doublecast samurai skills RM. Nothing too vital in other words.

Bladen, for abilities I'd actually focus on Thief's Revenge and Saints Cross to R3 before starting on others. Flare/Flare Strike would be a choice between a spellblade user you may not have a good SB for or a mage in the same instance.

Only other I would consider from your list is Odin art R1/2, but his utility is few and far between nowadays. The others aren't worth the orb cost compared to TR/SC.
