I've been thinking, with Record Dive most likely being released within a month - possibly as early as next week or the week after - what's the best strategy to use? With OK being released, I've been thinking it might be worth saving all of them until you have enough to fully dive him, and only then use the remaining ones to dive other characters since 3* are plentiful. That way you could fully dive him soon as he's released to take advantage of his versatility.

You can (and should) apply this rule for 4* fragments imo. 3* will be way more common and can be used to Dive a few characters, 4* are still extremely rare even in JP.
You can use the special 5* fragments we'll get in 3 months from the Double Burst celebration on any character you want, OK doesn't have access to any of those nodes.

This is why its great for us to be 6 months behind, we get to plan this shit accordingly .

6 months. And yeah, he seems OP but let's not forget that he gets most of that stuff through Record Dive. I haven't checked his board yet but I'm quite sure it's gonna take a long time.
It also requires special fragments for some parts of it I believe and I only see them obtainable from the Ahriman fragment boss (how I don't know, they're not listed as rewards.. maybe drops?).

Someone in the megathread on reddit reported getting them as rare drops from the exp special dungeons in the event too, also it seems you only need 1x each to open each 3* skill branch.

Small resume if someone wanna go deeper they can

When character get their record dive unlock they will get some some 'slots' that goes by a core Job

Exemple Cloud record dive categories will be RDM, Warrior Knight, Mystic Knight, Samurai and Paladin

Each category has 5 level to 'master' and when you complete a level you'll gain permanant stats

Exemple cloud Red Mage Level 1 requires 2x 3* Heart Fragment, 1x 3* Body, 2x 3*Knowledge
When you unlock that level cloud will gain Attack +1 perm

And they will get 'advanced' sphere

Exemple again Cloud starts with Red Mage, Warrior and Knight at first

If you master Red Mage and Warrior, Mystic Knight will unlock

Just wanted to quote this to add that for anyone worried about having to spam farm for the special OK RD fragments, I egged up my OK and got from cid missions his OK RD frag for certain levels, so we can get them from Cid missions too.

Also I checked his skill tree reqs, its 1 special fragment PER branch, so in total you only need 12 of his special fragments, of which you get half from Cid Missions.

Are we still of the mind that were getting a copy of the Alexander summon for the Braska event?

Wondering if I should try and push Alex to R4 as my next summon target, or bite the bullet and devote resources to Bahamut R3.

I thought I remember Reddit saying you needed to level Cores.

When the system was first teased, they used images of the core characters. People assumed that meant a system where you would "equip" a leveled core character onto the main to grant buffs or ability uses...thus the need to level the cores.

You absolutely should still level the cores though. Some of their RM3's are insane.

Btw, If any of you are like me and are a compulsive mythril spender (that'll change after BSSBfest for me cause only Ramza, Greg, Celes, Onion Knight BSSB and Cloud/Tidus OSB banner interests me) and are iffy on if you want to spend 25 mythril on the smn half pull or save it for the upcoming BSSBfest, wait till sometime after Braska banner drops, we should be seeing next batch of Banner translations, which should include our BSSB banners.

Just be careful with that though, because part of me knows DeNa is keen enough on data miners where they'll purposely leave the Burst fest banners out of whatever they translate next, and then upload the fest banners like 2 days before it goes live.

They are aware and besides, even if they do leave it out, we should have BSSBfest in a week or two so the SMN half pull will still be around when it drops.

Record Dive is not only for character stats though. Some character get access to better skills (either with upgrades to their current ones but some even get completely new schools added) and also more equipment options. In 3 months we'll also see some new 6* abilities added through a celebration type of event which require Record Dive unlocks (you get special fragments from the event and you can also get multiple free copies of these abilities by using them on multiple characters).
