true story, I'm in the second set of main quests in FFXIV (the ones with Leviathan, Ramuh, etc.) and I am so falling in love with Alphinaud as a character. I might go ham for his BSB, I really might. and if I do you can all RW it :D

It seems DeNA made the EX+ fight in the new JP FFT event impossible to beat, at least for me, lol

The fight hangs on a black screen. No amount of S/L, cache clearing, or even reinstalling the game solved this for me

maybe he gets worse later? but so far I like that he's becoming more independent and separating his own goals from those of Minfilia and co.

Alphinaud's burst is extremely good, even if you dont like him as a character, plus the banner it's featured in is very high quality overall. I would rank it a very distant second to Raines's burst in terms of mage bursts though.

Also it appears the new 6 hit machinist skill in JP can be used to trigger retaliate procs. Surely that is an oversight or else reta meta will be making a huge comeback.

Raine's burst is insane though lol. It's a damaging ST burst with a stackable MAG buff, offers another MAG boost with its second command to the user AND has a "chain" buff on its single target command allowing you to spam that like crazy. The only downside is that it's holy/dark elemental meaning that it can be resisted.
Raines gets +80% MAG from his Burst+command2, you can basically fit him into any team and he'll work just fine. And if you use him with Darkness skills you can add another 30% from MM because it stacks!

I imagine we'll see her and Gaius (we need a baddie from 14, so it would be him for 2.0) pretty soon in next 14 event, hopefully the GC leaders will also appear.

Well just tried MO 160 Mandy for over 3 hrs, couldnt win it no matter uif I aoe'd or focus fired each one, fight is the most retarded RK fight i've seen ever, gonna give it a big fat pass when it comes around for Vayne event.

Next XIV event will likely have Gaius and Urianger instead, maybe a DR for Thancred. Last one went up to Garuda so we'll likely have a Castrum event, it's a bit too early for Moenbryda. I'm also expecting Yugiri after that with Leviathan.
Would love a Coil event too at some point with Alisaie... maybe they could follow the coil release through the patches but at the rate they're going I'm not too sure lol. (6 months since the last XIV event in JP and no new one in sight ).
