Yeah, I was thinking that and esp since I don't need/use that many draw fire charges as is, simply upping it to rank 2 seems worth it.

It has its uses but it'll be more useful in the future when we get Knight BSBs with DEF modifiers. Draw Fire/Gaia Cross buff the user's DEF so you end up getting more damage out of your other commands.

That's the problem with the limited communication options in game. Working as a team can be a pain in the ass.

Also, another problem was that you can actually overwrite stoneskin with a 608 def/res debuff but none of the groups I cleared it with brought one. I just found out about it today and it made the last part of the fight so much easier since you could just ignore the eye and burst her down.

Been noticing that sometimes a few green sparkles will pop out of a character at the beginning of a battle. On the one time I paid attention to it, I noticed that character got double XP bonus. Coincidence, or is that what it means?

Also, can I S/L to get the bonus every fight (even though I probably wouldn't want to be bothered to do it...)?

You can't S/L the Double xp bonus. It happens or it doesn't.

Yep, it means that the materia has activated (this will be changed in the future, JP has a different effect now). Can't S/L sadly.

So I'm curious. Is Gaia Cross basically just.. better than Draw Fire in every situation possible unless something just resists Earth damage? I guess it'd have to be null even for it to still not be better.. esp considering my Draw Fire just has 4 charges anyway. Was thinking about upgrading Gaia Cross to use in cases where I want my P. Cecil to eat the damage to build SB.

Yeah and the draw fire effect lasts plenty long enough at rank 1, much less rank 2, so it's a decent skill to have around, if a tad unexciting. Some characters don't have knight 5 like the record divers squall and cloud so they have to use the inferior draw fire.

Titan fight annoyed me to no end. Not for difficulty - oh no, it's not hard. But so inaccurate!
