I wish I could help tonight, but unfortunately I'll be studying for an exam tomorrow. I likely won't even get to the Celerity dungeon until then.
Now that Nightmare dungeons are back, where's a good place to start? I've got Cloud and Tyro capped at 65, so getting their RM's will be my first order of business.
I'm thinking the Crushdown dungeons don't look exceptionally hard at first glance. I have bad memories of Spherimoph, and I'm not sure I'd want to go in with Terra (65), Relm (71ish), Rydia (80) - especially since my BLM hones are a bit lacking. I'm pretty melee heavy right now.
Well, going clockwise will relate to their difficulty. Forget at which point 80 caps started being a thing, but to be honest, none of these abilities should really be a priority for you since creating/honing is hard even for those who have done them all. Instead, try to hammer out the pre-req dungeons for MCs and orbs. Missing the challenge event with the job motes and abilities you could break down hurt, too.
Start with Ultima and just go clockwise. Do as much as you can. Fight 3 will have MC2 lodes and Fight 4 will have 6* Resist Accessories. Even if you can't master them, the win rewards have the accessories/lodes. These items can be GAME CHANGERS. Don't go crazy honing/creating abilities.
Thanks, I'll do that - I did manage to clear the Crushdown boss (Demon Wall), though it seems really tough to master that one because of the "defeat it before it uses Graviga" condition. It uses it about 20 seconds into the fight, so...
Currently grinding out cheap dailies to unlock Mako Might, which I guess I should give to Zell...?
Zell / Duelist (BSB) - Lifesiphon / Fires Within (idk) - Mako Might
Luneth / Eternal Wind (BSB) - Lifesiphon / Lightning Dive - idk, random shit materia tbh
Vaan / Ark Blast (BSB) - Lifesiphon / Power/Magic Breakdown - Battleforged
Ramza / Shout - Lifesiphon / Full Break - Dr. Mog's Teachings
Porom / Sync (AoE Curaga + Haste) - Curaja / Protectga, Shellga, or spell needed for medals - another shit materia, mind boost or something
Could eventually swap in Beatrix or Shadow for one of these guys, since I have their BSB's just kind of chilling in my vault (and I have Leo's Shock as well, so that's a maybe) - but I'd have to go and unlock them. Maybe I'd be better off holding on to my unlocks in case I get a really good weapon for mages or something. Plus the FFVI Ultimate fight has made me think I might need a Dancer at some point.
For Vaan, Thief's Revenge or Dismissal. His SB does MAG/DEF down and the commands do additional MAG/DEF. Don't do cheap dailies. Do the hard dailies for greens and orbs. Tidus has an RM that's Ace Striker that is another Battleforged. Weapon damage RMs are the best. If the character is using Lifesiphon, they don't need to start with SB. To me, Battleforged and Ace work better. Like you have with Vaan, his Ark Blast will be up before his commands run out from the previous SB.
Edit: work on a second healer. Some fights just need two.

- Legend Materia can be equipped from the Party Setup Menu.

- A Legend Materia will have different effect when being set as a Main or Sub.
Legend Sphere
Legend Spheres are Spheres that are hidden within the memories of our Heroes.
- After the maintenance, a portion of characters will receive their Legend Spheres.
- Fulfilling certain conditions will unlock their Legend Spheres for use.
- Sphere Skills can be obtained from Legend Spheres, and they require unique 5* Motes to be unlocked.
- 5* Motes will be given out in subsequent events.
- Legend Sphere Skills can be stat bonuses, damage bonuses, new equippables, new resistances, etc.
Edit: Gogo's Burst ability #1 is Mimic, seems like he can copy any ability used before this including stuff he wouldn't be able to equip normally. He also has Chain Waterga equipped so that's finally coming as well :D
Hard to feel excited about LMs since diving is still pretty restricted, and so far they just made it sound like dive 2.0. Think I'd be more excited about a 2nd natural materia slot, since it'd allow things like combining Lightning's insta-attack RM with Leo's AoE, or stuff like 2x cast/potency for whatever school of choice.
This seems like they might be able to finally distinguish certain characters from one another since for all intents and purposes characters are just swaps.

I'd be more receptive to that if they abandoned realm party CMs. Otherwise, there's no point in diversifying if you can't realistically take advantage of it when you actually want it. We see that through SBs, already.
Right, but synergy is the issue. Why bring Relm and your shiny brush if she doesn't help fulfill mission requirements?

I was actually wondering if this is a way for them to add functionality to older SB's.
Like equipping a LM would let Cloud's Braver decrease enemy defense and mind, or Terra's Trance Fire would now give a party Mag boost.
yeah but then that'd make the usefulness of the LMs entirely dependent on your relic draw luck. and it'd completely leave out newer players that started after all the old junk SBs got cut from banners. i suppose it could be viable as long as that isn't the only thing it modifies, but i don't see it happening in any case.
Most of these effects seem completely unrelated to relics. Cloud is likely getting a Dualcast Combat materia, Tyro seems to be a Burst duration increase. Can assume that these effects will be weaker in the sub slot compared to the main one (which should be exclusive to the character) but still a couple interesting picks. With materia being exclusive they better get creative though or some characters will just be ignored if they have crappy ones.

I managed to take down Guardian and pick up a MC3, and clear a few Nightmare Dungeons - so I'm sitting on some unlocks. Tempted to use the MC3 on Vaan (BSB), as he's probably my most important DD.
(Other options are Ramza (SSB), Luneth (BSB), Porom (SSB), Rydia (BSB), Zell (BSB), Tyro (squat, but he's flexible), Terra (BSB, capped @65)...)
Also wondering if, given the above, I should prioritize unlocking any of the following with my Nightmare items:
Garnet / Dagger of Resolve
Beatrix / Knight Protector
Shadow / Shuriken Storm
Leo / Shock (30/30)
Setzer / Red Card
...also lacking Tidus, who has useful RM...

Yeah, wow. Imperils will be heavily buffed in JP. You'll be able to stack single ones by repeated use (presumably to full weakness) and multiple types as well. I'm guessing this also means a small icon change to reflect these stacking.
Ive gotten Amandine down to like 5% multiple times now but the group always succumbs to paralyze and then the clock runs out.
Running Beatrix w/Fire and Paralyze resist and Wakka with Tempo Flurry/Armor BD and Fire resist.
Edit: Nevermind, just cleared it. Tidus OSB spam with someone else just did like 140k in 5 seconds.
