depends on how many -jas and spellblades u already have of that element i think.. because some battles have strats that require u bringing multiple characters to down it with weakness. if you don't have a good ja replacement with enough charages.. you will end up losing damage instead. then again if you regularly run with some form of +mag or something you might be hitting 9999 on weakness with -ga, in which case, dont do it.

Rinoa makes a comeback! She gets her BSSB next jp event, 8 hit earth elemental (yuck), closing with aoe ice, her 2 burst commands are obviously, earth/ice. Also surprise, surprise, this banner marks chars getting their second SSBs, Quistis gets a new SSB thats party reduce mag casting + hastega (gunning for it for my all mage crew), Laguna's second SSB, 7x aoe ice + oil ice (lowers ice resistance, i.e. if immune, now resists, if resists, now normal, etc), and Selphie sb, 4x aoe non ele whm dmg + dismissal.

Second banner is Seifer/Irvine/Selphie SSBs and new Squall sb thats 5x physical ice dmg + en-ice..

People are suggesting the second ssbs are replacements for bssbs that secondaries won't get, which would make sense.

Meh, no new character or dress record+ Blindshot reissue. Are they running out of ideas here?

They're also raising the magic cap for some reason, I'm guessing because they're planning to add new MAG buffs soonish.

So all caught up on Classic/Elite story dungeons… wow, didn't really think I'd ever be up-to-date with these.

Also failed with pulls on this banner… did an 11, 3 and 100gem… only 2 5*'s… stupid synergy robe and an FF7 Shinra Helmet… Still hunting for my 1st SSB

oh well, guess I'll save my myth for SSB fest, whenever that is.

The very people who bother to translate for the community, take the issue up with the jp translation, Global will probably convert it to "lowers element resistance". Also sounds just as stupid as De-ice, which is SE's official stance on the debuff name, imo.

Edit: my bad lol, it'd be de-blizzard, always got that one confused lol, still sounds dumb. :D

It's not really an accurate translation, they're just using a generic term like Wall or Medica for SG/SSII and AoE heals. Oil was the first status ailment with this property added into the game (yes, Oil is an actual status in FFXII and I think other spinoffs) so from now on every single status that increases elemental damage will be called oil, although it's way worse than Wall or Medica. I don't think there's any official translation from past FF games for the ice version.

As a status effect? No, I'm pretty sure it's not. It's only used in Ivalice games iirc.

I think Oil was only in XII if u count the main lineage but XI did have elemental resistance down stacks as well (ninjutsu, ancient magic). I'd prefer De-element tho cos it's quite obvious which element it reduces and what the effect is.

Nah, that was my bad. Oil Shot was what I was thinking of but it didn't inflict anything. In FFRK I think they made it do some weird effect but my mistake.

Yeah Oil is definitely in Tactics as a status effect.
