Might be, we don't know for sure, since this is our first lvl 255 boss, but I would think it might be for now, considering ultimate+ is lvl 160.

Is Flames of War the same potency as Planet Protector? I though PP was the only Attack boost of it's strength. Though I'm still new to the game, only been playing about a month. Just going by how I saw people talk about it.

No, you're right, Flames is 30% - I was using it as an example of a WHM boostga where the WHM isn't getting the damage benefit (thus why I had to throw the "as much" thing in there since lenna will still benefit from the hastega).

Oh, I see. Unyielding fist is kind of like runic, not always useful but tends to ruin certain battles. Obviously you don't need other buffs with it so he can work in a mixed party, but it really becomes insane by cheesing HP-targeting attacks on it. Ultimate Vossler comes to mind in the last one (lifesiphon+galuf = you win) but there's also some low HP triggers, like FF6 holy dragon (?) where if he's the lowest HP, and you get the timing+lifesiphons on. Also it's immune to ultimate dispel, so yeah. It's an unusually strategic soul break.

I can't see them not considering Cloud AC event has empty MCs for it, as well as the fact jp got it around this time (I too expect no Edward/Firion MC for maximum troll effect, thank god we get his MC in Adult Rydia banner).

That Ifrit challenge in JP is pretty intense.... Papylymo's SSB Enochain Blizzaja absolutely trashed him though, but there has to be some kind of gimmick because even with all my native 5* FF8 synergy, buffs and magic blinks, I was still taking a fuckton of damage.

That Ifrit challenge in JP is pretty intense.... Papylymo's SSB Enochain Blizzaja absolutely trashed him though, but there has to be some kind of gimmick because even with all my native 5* FF8 synergy, buffs and magic blinks, I was still taking a fuckton of damage.

The event blurb confirms there is a gimmick, players haven't found it and elected to brute force it, sounds just like SE past attempts at gimmick fights.... (looks at AV/PW).

Edit: Hmmm, dataminers confirmed there are no special AI commands for Ifrit and seems the gimmick thing turned out to be false, so sounds, if true, we went straight from ultimate+ to ultimate++++.

Yah I tried him with a group of 65~70 FF8 characters with all of them having 5*+ Synergy weapons and armor and I was taking 4500 damage Firaja's through Stoneskin lol. I got his HP down just enough his bar moved before I completely wiped.

I am clearly not there yet... my god he was stupid hard.

Honestly damage BSSBs for that fight were somewhat pointless even with Scream. Squall + Tyro were the only BSSBs I brought (I also have Tidus + Cloud's BSSBs), but I found myself using Blizzara Strike on Squall even during Burst Mode, because the burst spellblade commands only did ~5-6k total depending on armor breakdowns whereas B. Strike was a good 2k+ higher than that each time.

Blizzaja with ~440 MAG and Attunement II was doing 8-9k as well and Papylymo's SSB Enochain Blizzaja doubled in damage once En-ice was up (also making even Blizzaga hit for ~7.5K, while Blizzaja would cap easily.) Selphie's SSB was essentially a full heal and a magic blink since it healed over 4.2k to everyone with her weapon lol. With record dive, it was inevitable we'd see a higher difficulty soon and probably another level cap increase in the near JP future so I'm sure future iterations will be a little easier if you aren't packing all native 5* for that realm (FF8 is actually my strongest RS realm on JP because I went hard on Squall's BSSB/Edea's SSB banner.)

The good thing for global is that you can plan for the real pain in the ass bonus quests that they've released recently. So far, they've done (in this order I think):
FFX bonus quests needing only FFX characters (Probably someone was required here, but I don't remember who; maybe Tidus + Yuna)
FF4 bonus quests needing only FF4 characters (I think Kain was a requirement to be one of the 5 chars for both quests)
FF8 bonus quests needing only FF8 characters (Squall + Rinoa were required to be part of the 5 for the first quest)
Ifrit event bonus quest for FF8 characters (fuck. that. shit. unless you have one of Quisty's Hastega SSBs)

Or you can just not give a shit... but planning ahead may allow you to complete them.

Sidenote: Resist accessories will take on an added importance as well in fights like the Ifrit one.

Faris bssb in jp bitches! Crossdressing Pirate Captin ftw! Banner also has bartz/lenna ssb and new Exdeath SB. Banner 2 is Galuf/Krile/Greg ssb (sorry Exdeath, no one luvs ya). Faris BSSB is 5 hit full break, like Fran's ssb.

Edit: Expect needing full realm parties for quests here on out in jp, this event continues the trend of needing full FF5 party for ++, ult, ult+. Also Galuf ssb is unyielding fist with 4 hits attached xD.

Edit2: RIP Melusine sleep fire strat, she is ult and levi is ult+.
