Shantotto: BLM 5*, MNK 4*
FFXI receives the FFXIV treatment (it unlocks early on) but Shantotto has no MC1 so she's stuck at 50. However she has the highest MAG stat in the game at that level (only 1 extra point over Vivi,Lulu,etc.).
4* mnk wat
giving her Combat or Darkness would have made far more sense in that case, nothing about FFRK's monk really links to Shantotto or BLMs in XI in general; the only congruence between them is Staves, and even in that it's an extremely poor comparison. The closest Shantotto ever got to meleeing something was in her Domina Shantotto form, where she used a scythe. In fact the trust version of Shantotto is hardcoded to literally stand there and do nothing if she can't cast magic on the enemy, she won't even autoattack. Quite perplexing.
Not yet at least. Darkness was introduced with 2 physical skills (because DK Cecil was part of that event) and 90% of the characters with access to these skills was magic based. Although in this case Shantotto is the only character in the game that would benefit from magic MNK skills but it could make her quite unique. I do agree that Darkness would've been a better choice but she might be buffed in the future.
She's obviously BLM/MNK in FFXI for the extra HP and boosted chi blast for Nidhogg pull. You plebs just can't see the benefits of it. You obviously need the /MNK sub and chakra for when you pull aggro and need to kite it away to survive.
They obviously read the Brady Guide!
Hearing more and more that one should pull the beginner just for Stormlance. Doesn't seem worth it to me unless you have uber beefy stuff to stack or if you already have Sentinel.
I can see some benefit to it. You are always going to be able to kit Tyro out in RS (or Lightning Steel if you have it). You are always going to be able to force him into a slot on the team. And he can self-buff and/or lifesiphon so that you can walk into boss fights sat on a huge chunk of damage.
I mean realistically it's SSB potency that is just held back by Tyro's stats but has the easiest time to be buffed (outside lightning resist/absorb mobs). It's not going to be hard to push 30-40k per use on it though.
It's probably the best relic on there unless you're lacking RS somewhere and really have to take that. Either that or Healing Staff anyway.
I've honestly been debating about pulling on it because Tyro's SSB has proven to be very useful, and it's similar to Stormlance. You do need RS and/or some kind of boost to get the full damage out of it, but that's not too hard since Tyro can literally use everything.
I think I'll wait to see if I get Lightning tonight, then I'll determine it. I want a Haste relic and I'm debating on Golem Flute since Edward can use it or waiting for the anniversary when the Vegas might return.
Was clearing out the bonus quests over lunch today, and had 2 separate instances of trash mobs (in classic dungeons) drop 2* equipment. Giant's helm and something else. Is this new? I thought only bosses could drop 2*.
Just RNG then. Should have known.
Edit: removed
We made a separate thread for drops.
Now that I got Lightning SSB I need to decide if I want to pull for her coat or save for SSB fest.
Doesn't seem that worth it. Im saving up.
