The vocalist for Ramuh actually sings in a fictional language - High Sylphic, which kind of is a blend of Japanese and English. It sounds really beautiful. Ravana's theme, like Shiva's is likely him singing of himself.

Only the first stanza is high sylphic, which like dragonspeak was created during development of 1.0 and never used until ARR

    Spoiler: show
Ula menida tula oh (Hoary Arbor, Lord of Light)
Tela omnida tula ei (Thine advent quelleth creeping night)
Ona ramuhda deme os (The wicked burn, their pyres bright)
Nola tulama tela ei (Smote by Levin's blinding might)

Soul without a name, heed my call
Sin doth stain the hearts of us all
The worm hath burrowed deep and hath grown
Soon he too shall reap what is sown

Step into the storm, know its mercy
Let the wind and the rain crash down over thee
    Lightning bright, thunder bold
    Guiding us forevermore

Soul fallen from grace, ware thee well
Judgment thou must face, thine own hell
The worm stirreth within, black as night
Breeding deeper sin, foul its blight

Soul, thine end is nigh. Take mine hand
All life must return to the land
    Lingered hath the worm, overlong
Purge thy flesh of fear and be strong

Step in from the storm, praise its mercy
Let the sting of the rain ne'er stray far from thee
    Lightning bright, thunder bold
    Freeing us forevermore

Now lift thine heavy head and vanquish thy sorrow
    Lightning doth strike
    Thunder doth roll

Now turn thy gaze ahead and look to the morrow
    Lightning shall strike
    Thunder shall roll on

Either way though, it still makes me curious how the Titan and Leviathan battles were for 1.x and if they used a similar track to Ifrit or Garuda style.

Are we talking pre-Yoshida 1.x? There's never been any indication of Garuda pre-Yoshida (though it isn't a farfetched guess, but something like Slyvan Ramuh was more heavily hinted) or a fight with Leviathan or Titan.

Titan is problematic, since he obviously existed pre-Yoshida, but like Ifrit probably wasn't meant to be fought early on. (I wonder if we were ever supposed to cross swords with the primal gods before Yoshida took the helm tbh, it certainly didn't seem like it)

As far as musical themes, there's a few unused/underused battle themes in Before Meteor--but I feel Primal Judgement probably would've been the default primal fite theme before Soken took over composing with Yoshida.

EDIT: I dug through some shit I forgot, but there are only infrequent namedrops so I don't hate myself too bad lol

Yeah prior to Yoshida. It does seem like it was rushed in to give us content more than anything, but would have been interesting since they clearly have their own personalities so the fights could have been fairly dynamic based around it rather than "go in and kill x primal!" Which is how I always pictured Ramuh considering he's more there to protect the Sylph (and of course as with all primals those who directly communicate are tempered regardless) and Leviathan was said to not be the serpent from the 1.0 intros but it would kind of make sense that when we popped up it was in the midst of the (didn't exist yet) Sahagin summoning him and well, our ship just happened to be crossing said path.

Primals did seem like we were heading on a path to either try to convince them to help us fight the Garleans eventually (it makes sense in the tone of FF) or if that failed we then had to take them out, since we learned they hurt the planet - We also learned during 1.x that we (players) can also summon our own Primals, which I figured..Phoenix essentially representing in 2.x in a sense.

How does it not fit? The sylph are singing praises of Ramuh and that you should die because Ramuh is awesome. It's just like Titan, except they aren't screaming at you.
Because Ramuh is the levelheaded primal who is testing you and his music follows.

Coming off Garuda screaming at you (HAHAHEHEHAHAHAHEHA!), Titan's peanut gallery screaming at you (BOW DOWN OVERDWELLA) and Levithan's doods (LEVIATHAN, LEVIATHAN!) , Ramuh was a refreshing changing of pace.

I chuckled a little when Leviathan tries to flip the boat with Tidal Wave and seems genuinely annoyed you cheated to avoid it. YOU CHALLENGE ME WITH TRICKERY?! YOU CANNOT QUELL THE RAGING SEA.

Anyone I've told that I've liked it before said they didn't like how it didn't fit the battle! So much for listening to them I guess.

Ironic part about Ramuh's theme is that it was originally Ultima Weapons theme at some point in the past. The Sylphic portions was added during the post processing phase.

Pretty sure you've got it flipped; they showed off Ultima theme said "this is the Ramuh theme" and then it was used for Ultima and it was very OHHHHHHH SHIT for me in Praetorium.

Should be less serene, more epic.

Lightning and thunder is not subtle.

    I'll agree to disagree.

Ramuh's theme is pretty calm to reflect the fact that unlike the other primals this isn't a legitimate fight, it's a test. The sylph are still threatening you in song but it's subdued because like Ramuh they're reserved. They keep to the Slyphlands and unlike the other tempered are pretty chill. The music just follows suit. Lightning and thunder can be scary but it's also pretty soothing.

Compare this with Alexander where the goblins invent new words to describe killing you. They're pissed (and the music shows) but what do you expect when the WoL is Magic School Bussing about inside their primal?

I wonder if Bismark is ever going to have a speaking role. So far he just wails at you.

On Ramuh's theme, I still find it amusing that the opening lyrics are in Firefly (Ep 4, first scene).
