What's the difference between Report Harassment and Filing a GM Report?

Just discovered I can file a GM report which seems to have the same form as the Report Harassment, was wondering if the former allows a GM to contact me or something?

Quite a bizarre form as well, it wasn't readily apparent I can access the GM report bit, I thought it was just a bunch of FAQs

I guess my guess was correct? I always wondered how GM initiated contact with people; I wondered why a GM never contacts me!

But hey if it means having a civilised discussion, if futile, with GMs I'm up for trying.

Is there even anything in this game worth reporting? You can blist anyone you don't like, you're unlikely to ever see them again through DF, they can't steal shit from you and all mobs are communal. And we know they don't do shit about RMT.

You apparently can report people for scamming you(like taking your mats and running off), or harassment that you can't dodge with a simple blist(like the PF up earlier with a person's phone number asking people to call it), and you would need a GM to do things like your one time item recovery.

I was unaware there was still a one-time item recovery option, interesting. I've never actually seen a GM in XIV though or had any interaction with one, nor really any screenshots of them. They seem much less involved than they were in XI, I suppose as a result of being much less necessary.

They'll also generally do an exchange too if its the same item.

Like our scholar bought the summoner weapon on accident for instance. He was able to use his one time exchange on switching it.
