Trying to figure out Bart PT. Has anyone given it any thought at this point? I'm not sure whether bringing Shellga or just smacking the Pauldron/Ailette with Magic Break will do for a bit. I'm mostly worried about the damage coming out quickly and would rather have Diaga.

I figure since I need to bring melee, might as well just go for it the normal way. Doing reflect on the mages, but smacking Bat with the melee just doesn't seem like it'd be much different than just going for it.

Obviously, have to get Fang up to 50 at least; may egg to 65.

Are you going to have Fang and Lightning defend or something? Honest question; I was trying to figure a way to avoid counter-Dispel, but short of having them not attack at all I couldn't really think of a way. If they don't do any damage I'm afraid I'll run out of ability uses.

That's the current plan. I have Mako Might on Lightning to open up with it and hopefully kill the lightning weak pauldron with her SSB and save some ability uses. If that fails to save me enough uses to nuke it down with 2 black mages then I'm back to the drawing board. I may have lightning start helping towards the end or if she gets hit by enough aoes pop her SSB off when it's ready.

Edit: I also still need 8 GBO to hone Drainga to R2 for my plan to work right. :/

My plan is just to have Lightning and Bartz use Lifesiphon and save their SB's until I can hit Barthandelus. If I can fire off 2x Lupine Barrage and 2x Blaze Rush, that's going to be a huge chunk of his HP. Ideally I'll have PP ready to be renewed if he dispels. The rest could be whittled down with spells or something.

Anyone with Lightning's SSB could have her sit on SB gauges and have someone entrust her too (Granted that requires you actually spend orbs on Entrust...)

I'm basically relying on '170k HP isn't a lot to blow through if he doesn't counter-dispel until your 3rd or 4th hit'

I plan on my honored tradition of bringing Yshtola as support and bringing Hope and Lulu for damage. I might keep Vanille healing and use a Wall RW. Not quite sure since we're forced to use Fang.

You're forced to use both Lightning AND Fang, not just Fang. I might have them do a debuff attack here and there. Dispel-all doesn't seem to be a 100% counter so... pray to RNGesus here we go...

I've just realized my plan has a flaw in it. I don't have enough RS gear to go around unless I deadweight Fang or gimp/replace Bartz

Lightning - Lifesiphon / Drain Strike - Vegas (Blaze Rush)
Bartz - Lifesiphon / Drain Strike - 6* Blazefire (Lupine Barrage)
Sazh - Full Break / Magic Breakdown - Goddess's Tribute (Boon)
Fang - ???
Aeris - Protectga / Cure whatever (Planet Protector)

I have 6* Kaiser Knuckles but nobody can equip them.
I have an Airwing which I could give to Bartz and Blazefire to Fang but that's a loss of 107 attack to the person with a 5 hit SB.
I could take Tifa (with Waterkick) instead of Bartz and give her Kaiser Knuckles and Fang Blazefire. Not sure if that is a gain over deadweighting Fang though since Tifa can't Lifesiphon.

Meh, if my 31 pulls on the banner had netted me a Glaive or Peacemaker this wouldn't be a problem!

You'd be better off giving the Blaze to Fang if she's higher level. Steal Power would make up for the loss in attack.

Steal Power doesn't stack with Planet Protector though. So I haven't actually created it.

Yeah that's what I mean. I have a Keepsake Ribbon / Planet Protector so Steal Power is heavily diminished to me as they don't stack.

Airwing is 137 Attack with synergy. My semi-augmented 6* Blazefire is 244 attack. So it's a huge difference in damage on Bartz 5-hit SB if I give him Airwing instead of Blazefire.

I might be better just giving Fang my best non-synergy sword which is like 120 attack. That would actually make more sense thinking about it.

think I might be doing a yolo strat for bart (though I'm not going to try it until after exp day). four melees and a whm, no retaliate, eat all the dispels. my synergy is meh at best. dis gon be gewd

That's exactly what I'm trying too although I do have the benefit of good synergy gear and multi-hit SB's to fall back on
