Baptism of Ruin makes or breaks this fight.
Hard as balls indeed.
Opinion on this setup? for ultimate
Would use HOTF or PP for RW or maybe even Blade Beam, to kill the adds faster
Well...... I'm passing this ultimate, tried the HH strat and even with HH + FB + PB + MBD, his baptisms were still doing 1500 per hit and Than Smile doing 1k+ across the board. Wasted 300+ stamina, not gonna waste mythrils, done with this gay as shit ultimate.
That should work just fine. If you want just use my Squall, or I can switch to Yuna. With natives you'll master easily. I put Irvine's gun Materia on Lightning though, I found it helped much better than Attune.
Don't waste time with PBD. Being some sort of mitigation or use a RES+ skill.
So I mastered, switching out Reflect for Thundaja, Dismissals for Ice Jump and Flurry, Firaja for Waterja, and Glaive/Pulse for Keepsake/Mako.
Robert, your best bet is to knock down the adds ASAP and then keep RES up and breakdowns on Bart. Just hope he doesn't Baptism you, since Thanatos doesn't hurt as bad as Destrudo. Also he takes more damage while charging so that's when I unleashed the fury (and made Fang jump).
Jump gave me one less person to heal.
It's winnable without HH. Use a healing RW (I went with Boon since I have healing in spades).
I brought shellga and native SG as well, but counter dispel all sucks cock when it wants to proc right as you buff. Also both retaliate/reflect did jack fuck for me cause either took too much dmg or ran out of spells. Also I didn't bring PBD, just PB since fang is as useful as khimari would be in this fight.
Anyway, against my sanity, I kept going and finally got lucky and managed to kill him, fang died midway so I didn't get the mastery, but idgaf.
Fang was actually super useful for me because of jump mitigating Destrudo damage 100% of the time.
Glad you won, mastery isn't really needed since the goodies come from winning.
Honestly I didn't bring any power break. I found that the "bonus" wasn't worth the time and reflect or retaliate was a wasted turn.
I could have brought Luneth instead of Hope but it was manageable.
Hardest fight so far, for sure... Counter Dispel is teh sux.
The only synergy I personally have are the pumpkin and the gun that we got as freebies. I did advantaliate on Tyro and he was doing 6k per counter. I had to Mythril once to save SB gauges but once I did that I won first try. 180 Stamina total it took me with all the reworkings
Saw Tyro solo boss rush with Loner, retaliate, and drain blade, lol.
Just have lightning break herself with the spellblade and you're good to go.
I'll probably do the same thing, but with Cloud since I have a xiii synergy
It's probably possible without an AoE heal, but I would never recommend going without one if possible. You can always pray he doesn't do Baptism in Ruin > Any AoE. With Shell and Wall up Baptism did ~800 dmg per hit iirc. I didn't have hastega so he'd usually be able to do 2 attacks before I could get a SB AoE heal off.
Anyone has a yuna or lenna aoe heal with strong xiii mind gear that I can use tomorrow for ultimate?
done with exp day, gonna give this a whirl when stamina is available. looking for suggestions, here is current setup
Spoiler: show
tyro and mog have mako/mog for healing grimoire/heroic harmony. plan is find a lightning RW to Zerg one add down fast, then focus on the other one. might put drain strike on lightning and give mog another cure instead of regenga. thoughts?
I think regenga is a waste because the incoming damage is too much, you'd be better off with another cure. The adds were never a problem for me, Magic Break + Shell + Wall was more than enough, Zerg time was for Bart himself.
I'll switch my RW to Yuna with XIII gear later tonight when I'm home.
