We nuked matching the weather of the day and kill the adds fairly quickly. Those are the only two remarkable things I noticed.

I mentioned this in passing last night, but I think the mechanics are related somehow to the real game of chess, or rather Chaturanga.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaturanga
So Schah is obviously the Raja/king (but renamed since Raja is already a used NM name), Mantri is queen, Ratha is rook, Gaja is bishop, Ashva is knight, Bhata is pawn (which can evolve to Mantri/queen if left alive long enough).
- Raja (king)
- Mantri or Senapati (counselor or general; ancestor of ferz; early form of queen)
- Ratha (chariot; rook)
- Gaja (elephant; later called fil; early form of bishop)
- Ashva (horse; knight)
- Padàti or Bhata (foot-soldier or infantry; pawn)
Ram mistyped and our order last night was actually Bhata (pawn) >> Ashva (knight) >> Gaja (bishop).
Now either it's just a crude "kill in the order of reverse hierarchy" type thing, which we did; or it's some sort of more sophisticated "kill in an order representing an actual chess move" type thing, which seems a little outside the bounds of SE's trickery, but who knows. Our resident chess expert says that pawn >> knight >> bishop is a pretty standard opening to a game, so perhaps that's it. Pawn >> knight >> bishop is also a path to "access" the king on the king side.
In any case, I recommend someone try following the same pattern we did (obviously without letting a Bhata evolve) and see if it locks spawns.
Sounds like the opening of a gambit? New favorite NM
Question for those who have one: What happens if you close a lv4 using the merit ws?
I understand that creating it consumes the AM, but I don't think I've seen exact confirmation on whether or not you will get a new AM by doing the above.. Trying to find some sort of silver lining to what is increasingly feeling like a mistake in choosing the dagger over instrument for my first Aeonic.. Was really expecting the TP Bonus to work in offhand due to the templating.![]()
Upgraded empys dont get stats in offhand? I thought twash dex still applied etc.
Base stats like dex/str/etc do apply. Things like att/acc/aftermath etc don't except for a time with certain stages of the relics
Apologies for the follow-up, but to be absolutely certain, do we have confirmation that the Store TP also does not apply when the weapon is in the offhand?
The Store TP does apply in the offhand.
Alright, that's one pro, at least. Appreciate the confirmation.
So the TP Bonus does not, but the Store TP does? That's interesting.
I paly COR and BLU, mostly, for melee. I am thinking about piddling around with RNG and SAM as well. For those of you who have seen the aeonic's, what would you recommend as being "worth it"? Thank you.
I think Fail-not would be worth it can you main hand a martial knife and get the bonus from that too?
I thought Martial Knife was main hand only and didn't do anything for offhand/ranged?
The only tp bonus weapons I can think of that worked with other weapons/offhand were the magian ones
There is nothing preventing SE from changing their rules at any time. Since it has been reported that the StoreTP on aeonics does work while in off-hand, that actually supports that they DID change that rule. I was hoping the TPBonus worked as well due to the templating ("TP Bonus +#" vs "TP Bonus").. I think the only weapons that have this type of template are the magian weapons however, so it could have gone either way.

Still wondering about my other question though.. If you close a Radiance/Umbra with 3000TP, do you get a new AM buff?
For example: Exenterator (3000TP, AM) ~ CdC > CdC (Light SC) > Exenterator (3000TP, Radiance SC)
(...I think that SC works at least.. If not, pretend it does for the sake of the question please.)
In the example, the 2nd Exenterator should consume the AM when Radiance is triggered, but does it then apply a new AM or not?
It shouldn't, since AM application happens before the WS's effects are applied.
