I had the filter, hematology threw a fit about it and took it out. I've had breakthrough clots on wafarin, lovenox, and pradaxa. I'm on fondaparinux after this last go-round.

By the time any of my Drs. realized that no one had bothered to take out the filter, it had already been 6 months since installation. They deemed it too risky to attempt removal because it is normally removed within 2 weeks. At this point, I'll have it until I kick the bucket or it causes an issue.

well, appointment went well enough. nothing they want to do about the clot right now, not much they can do really. last US showed it's slightly reduced, and is encapsulating and scarring up. that's good news really, it's not likely to go for a walk. and if it does, it'll likely get caught on the 4" stretch of scar tissue in my femoral vein. doc was not happy about the utter lack of follow up since they let me out though. i'll be having regular US for a bit.

last night was fun, got to go chill in the ER, get another CT. couple of days of blood poop and stomach cramps led me to call my doc to touch bases. i told them it was pretty minor really (i have minor diverticulitis and have had issues with hemorrhoids in the past) but they said nope, get thine ass to the ER. turned out to be a nothing burger, but bloodwork came back stupid. 'acute kidney damage' was not something i wanted in my life, so now i'm sucking down water (i wasn't dehydrated, urine was clear, and i'd had six bottles of water yesterday) and going to see my doc today at 3.

I have a unilateral hearing loss since my birth which came to light when I was around 7 years old. At that time my parents took me to various ENT specialists for the reason and cure. The reason was that the hearing nerve of my left ear is totally damaged. As per the doctors' words, "the nerve is dry". All the doctors said at that time that it can't be treated, that there is no cure. But the second last doctor gave us panic and said "it can't be cured with meds, but we can do a surgery, and yet the results would be uncertain. But if we leave the damaged ear just like that, then there is a chance that the hearing loss would damage my good ear in the future." When we searched for a second opinion, the last doctor said that no surgery is required, and the other doc said that was not true, my good ear will be fine ineffective from my bad ear. And since then I have not looked for any more treatment and everything is going as it is.
But in recent times after I hired a service to write an essay for me on a medical thesis, I got an info about hearing nerve implants which is also called cochlear implants. I was really excited to find a cure at first. I immediately started to do more research about it and found out the side effects of the surgery. What if I take a doc's recommendation and have the surgery and end up with numerous other sicknesses? I mean I am doing fine with my one ear, but hearing in both the ears will balance sound and noise around me. One ear hearing sometimes causes headaches in high pitches and I also face a few other problems, but I am actually fine. What do you guys suggest? Should I consult more?

Woke up with extreme lower back pain concentrated on my left side. Tried going back to sleep and couldn’t, pain too intense. Got up and took one ibuprofen and a swig of OJ and tried to lay back down, couldn’t do it. Started walking around the house hoping maybe it was just stiff. Gradually the pain shifted a bit more to my gut and I thought maybe gut problems? But no urge to poop and no nausea. Despite no nausea, ended up vomiting twice within an hour. Just the OJ and some bile. Still in pain, and sweating. Don’t know what this is. Initial thought was appendicitis maybe? But everything I’ve read says appendicitis pain is in your lower right side and my pain is on lower left. Called out from work. I have legit never felt so awful.

Get it checked. It could be a bowel blockage, kidney stone, etc.

Went to walk in clinic. They did urinalysis and said I have “moderate” blood in urine and I’m likely in the beginning stages of a kidney stone but only a urologist could confirm it. They gave me a referral and anti vomit and muscle relaxers and told me to chug liquids and if it doesn’t pass in a few days to schedule a visit with urologist for more options. 37 and got my first stone damn what a life

Ouch well at least you were able to get some information. Dumb question..does urgent care not exist through your insurance provider or is that what we are talking about.
I can't imagine how painful stones must be for men...yikes.

So I finally tested positive for Covid-19 after two years of working in the jail in a Covid-19 quarantine housing unit, but last day of work was last Wednesday and started feeling sick on Saturday so hard to pin down.
I took two rapid tests because I didn't believe the first one given the test line came up almost immediately. PCR results confirmed it today so out of work until June 15th.

I just had the flu about 4 weeks ago too.

Walk in clinic to me sounds exactly like it was Urgent Care.

So in my area in California Urgent Care and Walk in can be different, but living in Florida they were synonymous so wasn't sure if it was covered via insurance or not just more curious really. Walk in usually refers to non insurance specific , vs urgent care with Kaiser , Sutter Health , etc.

Our urgent care is a joke , You can't actually walk in. You have to make an appointment which defeats the entire purpose of said urgent care. If you do walk in they will basicaly tell you the next appointment is 5 to 6 hours later in most cases. Though few weeks ago when I went they did take someone back due to the fact he was having potential heart issues and that facility is part of a larger hospital. Usually they try to defer you to the ER which out of pocket is higher as well , $15 vs $50 for ER visits.

Hmm true, i'll have to see how much they are. Walgreens/CVS sell at a marked up $$ compared to bulk places. Can get 100 needles off Amazon for around $25ish or so. Not to mention Walgreens/CVS usually doesn't have that many anyways, last time I needed a few from there they were hard pressed to find me 5 lol

In the ER, threw up the good ol' blood that looks like coffee grounds. Bloodwork looks ok though. Fucking thinners.

Tractor supply is where we got ours. I think goats or some other animal uses the same size sticks we can use
