I can focus on the patient instead of jotting short form notes during the interview and I'll save hours per week if I just need to make small edits to the note instead of generating entire narratives on my own.

We are 100% getting replaced in the next 25 years lol.
I'm on the fence, but I don't think we'll be getting replaced necessarily as someone will still need to conduct the interview.

I absolutely would use it in a clinic.

Isn't that violating HIPAA because you're sending the patient data to a random AI platform?

If it's secure, no. It gets integrated.

Since Covid everytime I've had to make an appointment for in person , which BTW are nearly impossible to get in my area , they ALWAYS try to make it a phone appointment.

I got sick last week with a severe cough , chest congestion. Cough hasn't improved in a week , as in coughing fits 4 to 6 times a night so went to make an appointment and got lucky there is one today. Next one would be August 20th for reference.
Get a call they don't want me to come in because I have a cough. I fire back that they can't hear my lungs or anything over the phone , so how will that help me ? And if I need an xray I still have to come in.
As an over precaution I have tested myself for covid every day , been negative since my first day.

Urgent Care for Kaiser only covers minor injuries, not illness so not an option unfortunately and they will force me to go to the ER , which is ridiculous.

Is it really this hard to get seen in person now or is it just Kaiser being Kaiser lol.

The website claims they are HIPAA compliant, but they can't have been around long enough as a company for that to be anything but self-certification (aka something they are saying). May prove to be true, may not, but I would 99% bet your medical lawyers would shoot it down.

Technically people are HIPAA compliant as long as they follow the rules, but normally someone else validates it before hospitals take on the risk.

But if you don't get them taken out, what excuse will you have to eat delicious ice cream for no reason?

So I came across this video, and I was wondering what the people who work in hospitals here think of it.

It looks pretty wild, I've never seen or heard of something like this before.

I'm admittedly a bit biased in this. I have seen homeless people try to do what's known as malingering for shelter and either have medications stolen or run out and then, when admitted to the hospital, refuse to leave because they have nowhere else to go.

Do I think it's humane? Not really. Have I seen patients take up valuable time and resources refusing to free up space for other sick people? Yes.

This definitely should be investigated, but may not result in the findings you think.

If a homeless person is medically stable, there's no reason for them to stay unless the discharge is unsafe for some reason (below freezing temps, tons of snow, hurricane, etc). Healthcare system doesn't have the resources to house the homeless.

There are times I've seen homeless people admitted with no medical problems. There is a diagnosis and billable ICD code for poor social situations, but it's temporary until case management looks into it and tries to find shelter. If they attempt to stay, they would call the police for trespassing. That's no different than any other patient, police would be called if a stroke patient refused to leave after discharge.

This too. Just because a patient wants to stay doesn't mean that they should.

"Oh that poor lady" only goes so far. A hospital is not a hotel, and while patients don't just get kicked to the curb in any old situation I think context is warranted here outside of "Kentucky" and "kicked them out".

Should also be stated that there are processes that allow for discharges to be appealed by patients. These will put a hold on a discharge while the case is under review by someone other than the attending. This will usually buy you another night or two.
