Extreme shortness of breath and when it comes to things like precision, my motor functions are fucked up today, and no appetite. Not only couldn't I eat, I couldn't even scoop the food into the to go container my friend had to help me otherwise it would have tkaen me like 10 mins at the rate I was going. And for the shortness of breath, had to take 4 breaks on a 7.5 mile ride home from plasma this morning and when my friend drove me home from lunch, I got winded just from putting my bike in her trunk

I just wish we had some kinda deadmans switch for CS cause how are we gonna find out the day he dies from his blood infection that wasn't treated in time because they were originally treating him for his bus-on-bike accident?

Someone could bite the bullet and monitor how often he streams. I tried to install twitch once but my fingers are too old.

I'm uninsured, only way someone gets me to a doctor is against my willl while i'm unconscious ; like my first accident that split my head open in and I left a pool of blood in the road that didn't wash away for weeks till rain washed it.

I refused treatment for that accident. I didn't want the medical bills.

If it's my time it's my time, I've no qualms with that. Shit last time I've even had as much as a checkup, bloodwork, etc was my required physical to get into sports in high school, so about 20 years ago

I've been hit 8 times lmao and I've totaled 12 grand. 5k of that went to the MRI because I'm uninsured, then me in second place with 3.5-4 grand, and the lawyer with 3 grand. Can't sue people who don't stop. Shit the bus didn't even stop lol only reason they could prove there was an accident at all was of my blood on the bus, lmao

Anyone ever had an electromyography done? Been having real bad back pain for a few years now (degenerative disc disease), but more recently some numbness in my toes. Rheumatologist wants me to get the electromyography done, and follow up at the spine center (already had an appointment on the books since they're the ones who handle my pain meds anyway). Basically just wondering what to expect. I think the doc mentioned something about sticking a needle in my back?

Yasss, for nerve impairment due to a herniated disk.

The test is easy enough, but surprisingly painful. The stimulus they send to test the nerve, when triggered, hurt like someone was tazing me. The person doing the test was annoyed with me cause I'd have a strong reflex at first and move my leg. After I realized that nothing was wrong and this was how the test was supposed to work, I stayed still but still made shocked noises cause yeah...it really felt like someone was genuinely trying to taze me.

Lmk how it goes, I want to know if this asshole of a tech was just doing it wrong to me lol

Just remember not to get back surgery until you are prepared to get back surgery like every 3 years for the rest of your life.

lol pinellas county (where I live) has the highest death rate per capita for cyclist in the entire country, so to walk away from 8 (with only one needing hospitalization) is an anomaly in itself

Oh boy... Well at least I opted to schedule it on the day after my birthday rather than the day of. I'll try to remember to post an update after the fact. Thanks for the info.

They might be looking into doing something interventional like an epidural steroid injection. It's usually done under fluoroscopy (X-rays). Most spine interventions planned are like anything else, conservative therapy (less invasive) and if conservative therapy/management fails it will move towards increasingly more invasive like procedures or possibly surgery.

    CDHP vs PPO?

    My options are:

PPO at $93/biweekly pay with FSA and $750 deductible
CDHP at $65/biweekly with HSA that employer contributes $500 to and $1600 deductible
CDHP at $12/biweekly with HSA no contribution and $3500 deductible

Right now I have my PCP, my endo and an ENT I see. My endo just charges me $425 per visit and doesn't submit anything to insurance so that's moot really, though I plan to find a new endo soon hopefully. I'm on a few generic meds for acid reflux, testosterone cyp, anastrazole and finasteride (Insurance doesn't cover the test either because my range was just 10 pts shy of being at the very bottom where they would cover it)

I'm on the PPO right now, haven't hit my $750 deductible from what I can tell this entire year so I feel it's basically a waste of $$ and would rather be tossing $$ into the HSA as a retirement fund + emergency fund instead
