Well if I sub in Carbuncle for one of Rydia or Rinoa's ability slots I can keep Reflect up to deal with Death, yes?

In that case I wouldn't be worrying about her damage against Ultima as much as for the Mana Sphere. I would think it should save a couple ability uses for after the second phase.

If that still sin't worth it, though I could do a full mage PT too.

The fight against Ultima only costs 1 stamina. Even if Lightning doesn't work out, you could always just reorganize and try again.

I would personally swap her for Kefka or Tyro in your situation and have them use the MAG+ dance which would let all your -ga nukes hit for 900-1000, maximizing your damage on Ultima. This is what I did and I killed Ultima right after he got his second charge, I never saw phase 3.

Like I said though, it's only 1 stamina, experiment and find what works for you.

Well that was surprisingly easy. I didn't really care about redoing it because it only cost 1 stamina, so when I lost 2 characters to the Ultimate magic I said "fuck it" and just ended the fight only to find out that no KO wasn't a condition. Yay

Ultima is supposed to be the easiest but all Nightmare bosses are supposed to be gimmick fights.

Was wondering to give Tyro Mako for SG or not, doesn't hurt but i feel his DMG could be low (I havn't done the lower nightmare dungeons yet

SG is completely useless for the fight tbh. Just go with Quistis as RW and then nuke it down. A single Water will cure your party to full whenever he attacks.

Well I wasn't expecting it to be that easy, but it was nice to have a different type of challenge. Have SG but never used it. Killed it with 3 charges in phase 2.

Liquid Flame was the easiest boss tbh. Draw Fire+ Retaliate to nullify his physical attacks and just barrage him with spells (one at a time).

Easy peasy. First time I used Crushing blow RW but it wasn't that strong so on my actual run I didn't bother with RW. Firaga Fury MVP

Ultima is ridiculously easy. I forgot to use non-elemental on the Mana Sphere and still mastered with it being my only 3 stars lost.

Field your 5 top MAG characters with synergy, don't even need a healer, then:

Hastega > Carbuncle > Nuke Ultima until Mana Sphere pops > Non-elemental on Mana Sphere once > Water on Mana Sphere once > Fire/Lightning on Mana Sphere until dead.

Like Tyrath said, easy peasy. Hardest part was cycling RW until I get a Mighty Guard (VIII) to pop, which in retrospect, could have went with Boon and be just fine.
