If you breed 2 different Pokemon, is the male or female dominant for the resulting Pokemon? I read that IVs are mainly based off the the female bit what sex dominates the type of Pokemon or is it random? Like a growlith and vulpik will give me what Pokemon ?

Oh yeah - anybody have an extra vulpix they would be willing to donate to me ? I can't give you much now but I can return the favor when I'm further in the game

The female determines which pokemon the child is except when dealing with ditto breeding. IVs (assuming you're dealing with Gen6 atm) take 3, each from a random parent. Destiny knot will force the offspring to inherit 5 IVs (again, which parent passes on which IV is random).

The males pass down their moveset and females determine the resulting pokemon, which is why ditto breeding is so useful, ditto can breed with anything and will guarantee the resulting pokemon is always the partner pokemons type, so you could breed a male charizard with moves you want with a ditto to get a charmander with the egg moves you want

Egg moves aren't restricted to males anymore. Besides the female determining species, everything else is gender neutral now.

Egg moves aren't restricted to males anymore. Besides the female determining species, everything else is gender neutral now.

I think if you want a Hidden Ability it has to come from the female unless you are breeding with a Ditto.

Forgot about HA's, but I very rarely don't use a ditto anymore. Haven't touched battle maison, so not sure if I'd be useful or not. I do have drifloon, clamperl, shinx, mudkip, and piplup all with 5-6 ivs, egg moves, etc ready to go. Been working on eevee, but getting the last iv on a female is proving quite annoying.

Like Gred, I can pop out 5-6 iv mons pretty quick if needed.

Multi-battles are just annoying to do with the AI partners since it just takes one little screw-up to lose. Steven is spades better than the partners you had in XY maison, but I think it would be easier to do it with a player (or a second 3DS/cart lol). I'm trying to just hard support him to victory using Greninja to Mat Block for him and a Latios to give him Tailwind / Healing Pulse / Helping Hand.

I haven't gotten to breeding yet but if anyone wants specific Pokemon just to fill out their pokedex (esp Sapphire-exclusive ones), or to trade pokemon to evolve them, let me know.

I'm worried its gonna be too easy for the normal gameplay. Not saying Pokemon was always super hard but stop giving everyone 1~3 Pokemon that you just one shot. They need to introduce intelligent trainers/gym leaders that swap their Pokemon out based on certain variables or actually are challenging. Probably asking too much though considering who their audience is.

The main play through will always be simple, but a lot of the post-game stuff is tailored for more experienced gamers. I don't just mean competitive battling with super-bred Pokemon (although it is not hard by any means to get perfect breedables, it's the perfect ubers that's a bitch). The Battle Maison will kick your butt if you haven't bred good Mons, invested in a good EV spread, and aren't prepared for unorthodox strategies. Things that never get used in the regular play through like choice items, custap berries, trick room, etc. all come out and enemy trainers have definitely optimized their teams' stats.

The only thing that has ever pissed me off in Battle Tower-like activities is the AI teams that use evasion moves (and/or holds BrightPowder or something)

Like, seriously just die in a fire. Nothing like a good streak ended because of an unlucky string of misses.

It's terrible that a lot of the common coverage moves now, like Stone Edge and Focus Blast, all sit at 70% accuracy already.
