also don't forget there's a victini mystery gift event going on right now according to serebii.net
Also I guess we can't expected back and forth transfer with oras and sun/moon
Most likely will be similar to previous gen jumps, one way trades from older gen only.
As mentioned, anything breedable is pretty easy to get via GTS. The Kanto birds are kind of "low tier" legendary; you may be able to trade for them with something "produceable" but not necessarily unique. Like for example Froakie family with Protean and to some extent Torchic family with Speed Boost is really appealing and some people will trade out the ass for them. Same goes for stuff with a lot of maxed IVs or good IV Dittos. Saves people a lot of work, something some are willing to give up a lower legendary for. The harder stuff to get people to GTS for without stuff of near-equal value are Dialga/Palkia, Tornadus/Thundurus, Reshiram/Zekrom, and Ho-oh/Lugia since both members of each of those pairs are needed to encounter a third (or in the case of the Johto birds, encounter Raikou/Entei/Suicune).
In my case, I'm just gonna breed a shit-ton of Speed Boost Torchics and those will get me basically everything that is breedable, over time. There is a small risk that you're taking peoples' word for it on if your/their trade has an ability or IVs that someone says they have, but I think in most cases you don't find a lot of scammers.
Keep in mind that you don't have to have seen the Pokemon you want to trade for to ask for it on GTS. Scroll down to the bottom after Z and you can hit "What Pokemon" to manually type the name. Be sure to filter out special trades so you don't see the dumb shit like people wanting Mewtwo for their Pidgey.
When/if I get my hands on a DS Lite charger I'll be able to bring all of my older legendaries forward which will account for quite a bit I apparently have 2 Groudons for example from some combination of Ruby/HG/trading, and I'll have 1 extra of most everything else. Also 2 each of Jirachi and Deoxys though their IVs probably aren't fantastic.
Gamestop used to sell a generic brand charger with both DS lite and 3DS/DSi plugs built in. If they don't anymore can probably find it easy enough on Amazon or ebay etc. Assuming you need it to transfer Gen 4 to Gen 5? Since you need 2 DS or 3DS for that. Or 3 to 4 since 3DS doesn't have a GBA slot.
Is it me or does ORAS not have any good fire Pokemon? I mean, they have some but none that are appealing to me =\
Most are either just fire type or fire/ground too. But my Mudkip line already has ground type covered so I don't want another
I have a DS lite and fat original DS, the fat one plays my JPN copy of White. I just lost my charger for the Lite or something. I have brought stuff from JPN White over to 6th gen via Transporter (even though I can't actually play it on NA 3DS). So yeah the only gap right now is 4>5.
I'm wondering if anyone has mapped out how long it takes to get to certain legends in the older gen games, like if it's time-efficient to restart Diamond for some Dialgas or something. But 4th gen had the goddamn worst slowest speed on HP bars going down, urgh. I suppose once Sun/Moon drop I can hold stuff in Bank and restart Y/OR with level 100s blazing through main game for fast legends.
This, along with being the coolest Fire/Fighting starter, is the reason Torchic is the only option.
But really for Fire needs on ingame, Overheat can be learned by Manectric or Exploud (as early as Loudred I think), so a dedicated fire-type isn't totally needed imo.
Is there any list of "Pokemon trade price?"
I tried to look for fun for articuno and all people, want are mythicals like arceus mew and etc
And not sure I wanna spend my 2nd arceus on articuno
Hell no. Like I said, filter out the special results, especially for low tier legends like the kanto birds. Lower left corner before you hit search. You can also, during search, filter it to only things you own/have owned.
Plus most event distributions can't be traded over GTS anyways.
The exact order is kind of flimsy but one gfaqs topic went with this as of ORAS:
S+: Giratina, Kyurem, Landorus
S: Dialga, Palkia
S-: Zekrom, Reshiram
A+: Tornadus, Thundurus
A: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Xerneas, Yveltal, Groudon, Kyogre
A-: Latios, Latias
B+: Regigigas
B: Raikou, Entei, Suicune
B-: Cresselia, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf
C+: Deoxys, Mewtwo, Heatran, Zygarde
C: Regirock, Regice, Registeel
C-: Rayquaza
S+ is debatable tier but it has all of the ones that you need both of in the S/S-/A+ to earn. Stuff lower on the list is lower mainly because it's in both versions of ORAS.
Yeah seems like GTS is a hit or miss luck wise, even if i do tell to search using my own pokemon, nothing more fun then someone looking for a moltres and wanting a moltres in return
Anyway since I plan to play both Y and X, and that ichose Fennikin in my Y game that means I'll have a Zapdos
If i can just get a Moltres or Articuno on GTS then that'll decide who would be my Starter for my real X game
Fun stuff
Wow was able to catch mewtwo by paralyzing him and only 3 dusk ball
Yeah these new pokeballs are ridiculous.
Speed Boost Blaziken and Mega-Charizard are really the best options out of breedables. Talonflame with it's hidden is also okay.
Primal Groudon is THE dominant Pokemon of competitive if you want to include ubers. Ho-Oh is also a force, but you can't get it with its hidden ability without transferring it from a previous gen, and the difference between a normal version and one with the hidden is massive.
The O-Power Capture makes it really easy to hunt legendaries with just Ultra Balls. But you still have to soft reset a bunch if you are looking for a good one.
Playing through Diamond now and I'm loving the battle theme. I like that they kept the timpani from gen 3.
GTS is a cesspool. Worst place ever.

You can catch Vulpix and Growlithe at Mt Pyre, and Magby and Larvesta at Mirage Islands. I fucking love Volcarona.
Actually, I have a request of my own. Can anyone help out with HA mudkip, piplup, and/or lileep? I can offer pretty much anything in return.
also just remember you can't trade mystery gift pokemon on the GTS, any pokemon in those bright red pokeballs can't be uploaded, but you CAN direct trade them with people :D
While it's definitely slower than asking people here to help out, I found this method for doing "solo" trade evos as long as you have 2 gen6 games and 1 3DS: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/com...using_2_games/
As an aside, you could also use this method to transport items on the shit-mon or the trade-evo if you're pretty confident that nobody will snipe it. What I'd do is put all of my trade-evos from OR to Bank to Y, put items I want to transfer from Y on them (or the trade-item evolve items), and put up Pidgey/Zigzagoon/whatever on the OR GTS. Then access GTS from Y.I don't know how well known this method is, so please forgive me if I repeat common knowledge.
Step 1: Catch something you don't need (e.g. lv. 3 Pidgey) and put it into the GTS. Demand a soon-to-be-trade-evolved Pokemon (e.g. Haunter) you already own in your other game.
Step 2: Start your other game and trade your soon-to-be-trade-evolved Pokemon (e.g. Haunter) for the worthless Pokemon you put into the GTS. This will work 99.9% of the time because nobody else would be willing to trade a Haunter for a Pidgey. On the off-chance that another player traded his Haunter for your Pidgey, congrats. You just got yourself an additional trade-evolved Pokemon.
Step 3: To trade your fully evolved Pokemon back, repeat steps 1 and 2: Put your worthless Pokemon in the GTS first (!) and demand your trade-evolved Pokemon (e.g. Gengar). Again, nobody else will trade a trade-evolved Pokemon for something as worthless as a lv.3 Pidgey.
The only danger you are facing is that you accidentally trade your soon-to-be-trade-evolved or trade-evolved Pokemon to a stranger who happens to have the same ingame name as you in your other game and who deposited the same worthless trash as you. To avoid that risk, add a unique message to your worthless Pokemon when you put it into the GTS.
Edit: u/Snobbels pointed out that Step 3 can be replaced by transferring your Pokemon back via Bank, this might be an even faster way!
Although, as I think was mentioned earlier, I don't think Mega stones can be traded over GTS.
