I'm trying to breed myself a Garchomp for competition and it's driving me crazy. I've got four boxes full of Gibles with 5 IV's but always an imperfect Def or S.Def instead of S.Attk. This right after I lucked out and got a 6 IV Torchic and Ghastly -_-

Also I'm on right now Katlan. I just sent a trade request that timed out, but send one and I should see it. I'm just riding around hatching eggs atm.

Looks like Gredival already got you on the Hyper Voice, but I sent you a 5IV Eevee missing just Speed. Should help you get started breeding them till you get good Dittos

Wait your Evee has Pokerus attached to it. I just looked it up and damn.... Is that a random chance to happen on trade? So I'm reading up on Pokerus. Now will the Evee you traded me always have it or does it go away after a few days? (I.e should I grind it ASAP now). I understand that if you infect other pokes in your party with it it will only last for a few days on them

Nah, I gave it pokerus before we traded. I got something with pokerus from a Wonder Trade a couple days ago and have been spreading it around, haha

Considering by playing with the PC box you can always keep one Pokemon infected that's a pretty OP virus

Every time the day changes over a Pokemon that is infected and in your party can recover from it, but the EV doubling effect will last after it recovers. Recovery just means the Pokemon cannot spread it anymore.

A Pokemon that is kept in box will stay infected.

^ What he said. Basically, spread it to a bunch of mons you never use before the day is over, then leave em in your box. You can use them as carriers to spread it to anything else you want. So long as the day doesn't change over while they're in your party, they'll always be able to spread it.

Whenever you have new pokemon you want to infect with Pokerus, take the dummy 'carrier' mons out of the box, put em in your party along with your new ones, do a few battles till your whole party has it (just getting into a wild encounter & running away a few times is fine), then put the carriers back in the box.

Not really other than the fact it's probably generated the same as shinies you get on Wonder Trade. Pokerus is rarer than shiny and even if you encounter it you will prolly KO the mon without ever knowing.

Feels like either GTS is horribly inactive, or people just want Speed Boost Torchics like 100x more than Protean Froakies. Had this one sitting up for a mere Turtwig for a full day now with no hits.

Also I dislike the entry hazard meta mostly because you can't teach Defog to half of the meta that is supposed to be able to Defog

That kind of ties back into my other issue with hazards though: the severe over-centralization of Stealth Rock. I also pretty much just want hyper-offensive all the time so full 6v6 Singles is not really my thing, though 3v3 singles is usually short enough.

I don't have so much of a problem with the concept of Stealth Rock or other entry hazards as a way for a team to set up that little extra damage they need for specific KO threshholds, or to punish switching (which also slows down a fight as well), but I dislike the fact it actually does type adjusted damage.

Just PM me if you need a specific Pokemon, I finished my living dex finally (aside from a couple things I need battle point items for and 2nd playthrough oras legendaries) @_@

The GTS is the worst. I truly hope they wise up and put legends and mythics in their own separate trade category when S&M drops.

GTS had been fine for me the past couple weeks; I just deposit a HA Torchic and it gets picked up overnight. Just seems like no hits in this last few days or so. I'm not really in a hurry to complete living dex, just making gradual progress. I'm sure I'll find something that I eventually need help with but I'm only at like 307 caught right now. Right now I'm SRing for a good Rayquaza so I can get to the Battle Resort.

e: Got one close enough to where I'm satisfied, considering Hyper Training is on the horizon anyways. Looking like 31/29/18/31/~20/31, Naive. Took less than 10 catches maybe, with a speed-checker Zekrom at 1 speed below Ray's +nature max.

This whole final sequence is pretty awesome, also.

e2: Yeah, I guess Froakie just isn't nearly as popular or everyone already has it if they need it. Torchic got snatched up in like an hour. I guess one rationale is that, ignoring competitive players for a bit, more people probably got XY than ORAS (if this thread is any indication, a lot of us didn't get ORAS until very recently). So it stands to reason that Froakie, HA or not, would be a little less "rare" for those people.
