Yeah I am personally really hoping the Alolan versions of old pokemon is to give them a form that's viable for competition but then again the typing on some of them is pretty dubious at this point...I guess we don't know how the competitive aspect is going to change in Gen7 so I'm looking forward to watching that develop as well.
I was looking through my box of Cleffas to chuck all the ones that had less than 3 IVs and I found out one of the ones I hatched a couple days ago was shiny lol. Can't even tell it apart from the regular ones.
New trailer with the ultra beasts that were revealed a couple days ago. Looks to be Sun/Moon respective. Nothing really substantial here, just seeing both in sort-of motion.Spoiler: show
Damnit, Sun's looks way cooler.
Also why are they called ultra beasts?
Lol @ the buff mecha-zika mosquito. Has the tiger stripes and everything.
Theories are that these are not Pokemon, they might not even be catchable. More intense theories assume they're people turned into Pokemon. Most of this is mainly assumed because Beauty and the jellyfish one (UB-01) look similar to Lusamine and Lillie or something. Also no cries or types in their reveals. They're certainly "different". Some of this also ties into theories that the "good" team (Aether Foundation) are possibly really bad guys doing gene mods or something and Team Skull will end up being not (as) bad.
I know, we have Pokemon that are explicitly aliens, inanimate objects, gods, completely man-made, and chimeras (in the case of Type:Null), but whatever these are? Possibly not a Pokemon. Crazy theories are crazy but it's entertaining to hope for.
Thing is Magerna, the Fairy/Steel robot-bunny thing, was already announced as the (a?) Mythic for this gen. So it would be weird to hype these up in a different way if they were the same thing.
Magearna was built 500 years ago though, so I'm wondering if it wasnt built in Kanto (to tie into the anniversary) and whoever stole it is now residing in Alola. There can be multiple mythics in a generation too, theres been 3-4 ever since Celebi.
The idea of turning people into pokemon is interesting though, as maybe the secret Magearna was hiding is the ability to combine human and pokemon DNA. Type:Null could have been a mass failed experiment that was released into the wild while the Ultra Beasts are more production types.
They do look cool, but Beauty is a little unsettling to me and none of the 3 really "feel" like pokemon to me. And yet a floating key ring does.
Man ever since Mega evolutions, pokemon is turning more and more into Digimon![]()
Definitely leaning Sun at the moment...
To me it looks like it might be a way for them to finally include proper boss fights in a pokemon game. Something you can't just one/two shot by having the right typing. If you can't catch them or ever use them yourself, it would free them from having to have "fair" stats, move sets or abilities.
I'd kind of like to see more "unfair" fights. We got a small taste of it in the form of horde trainer battles in ORAS, but it was only 2 against extremely under-leveled grunts. Totem battles look to be something like this, as the brief peek of one shown in an earlier trailer showed at least 2v1 in the totem's favor. Would also like to see more Doubles/Triples in general but that's probably not too likely.
I really need to find which box my X and Y games are in... I want to transfer pokemon over to Sun/Moon when I get it to try and start off with a full dex, but I have no idea what box they're in anymore. I don't even remember if I labeled it. It will be a pain to dig through them all as the space next to our "room" is pretty small and packed with boxes upon boxes of my stuff. How I fit it all into one room back home is beyond me.
Also.. does anyone have an extra Manaphy? I thought I had it.. but it was a Phione I had.
Edit:
Randomly started opening boxes. Found my N64 and Gamecube and my mixer I've been looking for, but not my Pokemon games. Ugh, I wish I could remember what box I put them in. I tried the book box as they were on the shelf with my books, nothing. Tried my Pokemon collection box thinking maybe I tried to keep them together as I sort of remember thinking that, nope. I'm going to just have to start opening them all and actually looking through them. Maybe another day. Have work in an hour and a half.
Feels like Speed Boost Torchics are the way to go if you want GTS bait. Had 5 deposits all come back within 30 minutes of posting in the past 8 hours. I'm gonna have to actually start breeding/evolving the shit I get and actually filling out my dex at this rate. Trying to mainly only grab things that I can't get in OR and that I don't have to go back to Y for first. So far I've been making at least +10 dex progress a day for the past few days, if that keeps up I'll definitely have all non-legends covered well before November. Up to 378 as of right now, mostly concentrated in gens 3/5/6.
Just waiting/hoping for the one mirage island in OR to farm an assload of Dittos, as this is what's currently roadblocking me from wanting to do things other than farm money or dex progress. I have the time to wait though, as I have plenty to do. In fact I'd kind of forgotten how life-consuming Pokemon can be when you're deep in the rabbit hole. I'm also retroactively surprised that, in the short time I played JPN White, I actually had bred like 15 things for "competitive" play. Granted some of them are really awful (2-3 max IVs at absolute best, things like Bouffalant, non-Skill Link Cincinno, and Scolipede since this was pre-Speed Boost), but it gives me somewhat of a re-starting point for low tier Battle Maison.
Like... Pokemon already basically is the Pokemon MMO.
Act like you're gonna do a trade with a random person (enough to get the trainer images to start scrolling by), then cancel it. Back out and check the news program. You'll get a notice that you passed by x number of people. When you go soaring you'll get at least a few more islands instead of just yours for the day, even if you don't trade or battle anyone.
Oh yeah I do the buzznav updating. Just haven't gotten that specific island to show up yet.
I think you can soft reset the game after the day change if you have not visited any of the islands yet to reset the ones that pop. Helps a lot getting the legendary specific spots to pop.
Yup, save your game before you update the buzznav once a day. Update it and then see if the islands you want pop. If not, close the game and repeat the process of updating the buzznav.
Welp, one version has a giant mosquito jacked up on roids, guess I know which version I'm not getting.
