It's tedious but it usually only takes an hour max to get a good Mon when you have a perfect Ditto. Catch one with a personality you want using a Synchronizer or breed until you get a base with the personality you want, then switch out as you get progressively better IV kids.

Once you have a 5 IV parent and the Ditto, there's a small chance for 4/6 IVs and the rest of just hoping your 5 IVs hatchlings have the dump stat in the correct place.

Well, I now have every non-Mythic legendary that I can't obtain in OR. Of non-legends, I own at least one member of any family that I can't catch in OR or is only on mirage islands, so it's only a matter of time before I complete the dex. I literally don't know what to do with GTS anymore. Trade legends for identical legends hoping for a better nature, I guess?

Try get ones with pentagons so you can use them (although if they replace the pentagon with something else in Gen VII that's going to suck)

Bank screenshots I saw had a black + sign where the pentagon used to be. Probably Gen7's pentagon.

Very interesting. Or alternatively I wonder if that's a field you can fill in optionally much like the other symbols next to it. It seems weird to me that it would be the same color black as those symbols, as well as being quite a bit larger than the pentagon. Wonder what the shiny indicator will look like.

I figured the Gen6 pentagon was only blue because that's what all the route signs looked like in XY.

My secret base assholes trolled me today; 5 everstones.

Gonna start breeding for 6IV parents and making bridges into other egg groups, starting with 5IV Electivire and 4IV Ditto. Had to like, find a map for egg group bridges lol. Found a pretty good one though.

The pentagon was pretty much brought in to get rid of a bunch of hacked legacy mons right? I wonder if they will have Battle Spot and VCG function on a "Pokemon must have a pentagon OR a cross..." rule or if they want to go forward with locking people to recreating a new set of mons every generation now.

I think it would be a bit of a waste to have packed as many legends as they did into ORAS only to gen-lock it again in Sun/Moon, but then ORAS is also the one that introduced the pentagon rule right? Could go either way imo. I imagine the first VGC ruleset is going to require the cross though. First VGC after XY was basically "totally in-cart Kalos-only" iirc.

I haven't gone through my Platinum cart yet to see what's on there, but I finally fired up my old HG game and found:

Entei, Raikou, and Suicune
Ho-oh, Arceus, Dialga, another Arceus, and Darkrai
Mew, Manaphy, and 3 Jirachi's.
Shinys of Entei, Raikou, Suicune (a different set from the first), Pikachu, and Riolu.
A handful of 5 and 6 IV Poke's I was apparently raising, notably a Mamoswine.
Some eggs which I have no idea what's inside.

I know I've got a V-Create Victini, Zekrom, Regigigas, the Gen 5 trio plus Keldeo and another Darkrai on White, maybe some other things as well. I'm also certain I've got a Shaymin somewhere, just need to find it. Maybe it's on Platinum. So I don't have to bring over the mass amounts that I thought, but having duplicate legendaries for trading purposes is never a bad thing.

I stuck with breeding after all and just made my first perfect Pokémon. 6IV Gastly with a Timid nature. Feels good man. I have a Speed boost Torchic, I guess I'll work perfecting that next.

Another chance at getting the Darkrai they gave away back in May

Apparently if you already received the Gamestop version, you can't get another so meh(though, I don't remember if this one has fixed stats? so I guess getting a dupe wouldn't really matter), but at least if you haven't then there ya go for your collection.

No sources I can find indicate this one is fixed stats or anything. Typically the only ones with fixed stats are anime-themed distributions (like Ash's Pikachu or whatever).

If it's really the same one as the Gamestop one, you can SR it for personality and stats. Would be easy to test it with one SR.

Flipping through my GTS trades I actually found quite a few with 4 maxed IVs that people were willing to give over. Breedjects I know but it's a nicer start than 0 or 3. Currently working towards 6IV Elekid and Fletchling and then branching them out to other egg groups.
