That shouldn't break a chain but you can test it by checking the level of the pokemon you encounter, it will go up one level for every 5 encounters in the chain. If the chain breaks the level will reset. The level will also reset after chain 100 but that's pretty hard to hit.

Incidentally I raised this team except I replaced the Gyrados with a Mega Latias because

A) I didn't want to hatch a goddamn Magikarp
B) The Latias I got through GTS was actually nice (4 maxed IVs, Timid), and it covers Gyrados's switch-ins sort of (resists Surf, EQ immune, resist Fighting)
C) Psyshock / Draco Meteor / Helping Hand / Safeguard(kind of filler but meh). I don't think I have a good gauge for when I'd want to HH over attack in a real situation, but for Maison it's convenient.
D) Felt like a waste to not use a Mega.

I did it for the berries though I'm not sure why.

My maison team was:

1. Latios @ Sitrus Berry - Tailwind, Helping Hand, Draco Meteor, Healing Pulse
2. Mega Blastoise - Water Spout, Aura Sphere, Dark Pulse, Protect
3. Greninja @ Focus Sash - Mat Block, Dark Pulse, Grass Knot, Rain Dance
4. Dragonite @ Lum Berry - Earthquake, Dragon Dance, Outrage, Fire Punch
5. Gengar @ Life Orb - Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Destiny Bond, Thunder
6. Scizor @ Leftovers - Bullet Punch, U-Turn, Roost, Swords Dance

Greninja blocks, Latios leads with Tailwind, Blastoise megavolves and either fires off a Water Spout or Protects if the enemy has foes that could outspeed Greninja block (i.e. an electric team). Second turn Latios uses HH, Greninja uses Rain Dance, and Blastoise spouts. Almost always KOs all three save Water Absorb. Even if they resist (grass team) if there was previous round chip damage, it's usually enough. Latios only switches off HH once Blastoise goes down or needs a heal. Grass Knot on Greninja because Water teams are one of the two team types that give this set up trouble with resists. Dark Pulse to help take out Psychic Trick Room users and because it can hit the far side. Draco Meteor for Latios because it rarely attacks more than once anyway.

The main thing you have to worry about is Trick Room users. I usually try to KO them with Blastoise and Greninja focus fire.

Gengar is Greninja's sub and pretty much fulfills the same role as the speedy attacker. Thunder is because Rain Dance may still be up. Scizor is the emergency bulk with priority in case a Trick Room was used and the main squad goes down. U-Turn is there over Bug Bite to help someone get a safe switch. Dragonite is also bulky with Multiscale up and the Dance - Outrage usually tears through weakened foes once Blastoise goes down. Fire Punch is sometimes problematic when Rain is still up, but it's for Ferrothorn. Earthquake doesn't affect Gengar or Latios.

Gotta admit I do like the sound of that team and I'm kind of sad you can't do something similar with Eruption (obscure event Heatran, Typhlosion, or Trick Room Mega Camerupt) or other users of Water Spout (all of them kind of suck or are slow). Think I will end up putting Tailwind on my Latias instead of Safeguard though. Might re-gear it to something a little more creative, keeping a Greninja-Latias?-something opener. Maybe some Hyper Voice user like Sylveon or Mega Gardevoir.

I do want to play around with Doubles ideas more eventually when SM get closer. I hope Cinccino and/or Togekiss is available in SM native because I want some flinch hax asap.

Looking at everything that learns Helping Hand is kind of insightful. I'm actually considering Mantine almost (maybe for a less serious team). Has a couple nice support moves in Wide Guard and Tailwind, has Water Absorb and not awful defenses and ok speed.

I tried a Eruption version of the team but the Water Spout was much more reliable because of Mega Blastoise's ability and because Blastoise can KO a Trick Room user with Dark Pulse. Choice Specs Typhlosion instead of Mega-Blastoise, gave Greninja Sunny Day, and replaced Dragonite with Mega-Salamence (DD, Roost, D-Edge, Quake)

The Eruption version only got to 90 something before it got stopped.

Embarassed to say I have killed my own pokemon more than once because I decided to mash A a lot... on my Latias that had used Helping Hand the turn before. So the cursor is defaulting to Psyshock or Draco Meteor the shit out of my Greninja or something.

I picked up 2 extra Volcanion codes if anyone could use one. First GameStop I went to refused to give me more than one (I wanted one for OR and another for AS). Second one I went into, dude behind the counter was on the phone, I asked him about the Pokemon giveaway and he gave me three codes and a thumbs up.

I got a Modest one on OR, maybe I'll keep SRing the other to try for a shiny.

Running through all the regular Maison formats to unlock super formats, Rotation is probably the silliest one so far just because Shell Bell lv1 Aron makes it hilariously easy most of the time. Only need to watch for Ghosts and Rough Skin.

Hate to be a beggar, but I'd love to have one if any of you guys have a leftover code to spare. Nearest Gamestop for me is like a 45-minute drive. If yall want a trade or something in return, lemme know. I think I had a few spare Arceus left over from the previous owner's Black game that are now on my Y game. That, or I might still have some Larvesta, Beldum, Shroomish, Honedge, Rotom, and/or Deino in my Pokemon Bank with some decent IV's back when I was trying to make a decent team.
