Any suggestion on which version to get? I know for the most part it comes down to preference on starters. I haven't played a pokemon game (besides Go), since blue. I have been/still am playing Pokemon Go (don't hate, there's flaws but I'm not hardcore and can deal with them) and it's sparked my interest in trying one of the 3DS versions.

You'll get more out of ORAS on the whole; gives you more legendaries, more total Pokemon, more megastones, and has far superior QOL improvements. However XY will offer you the chance to have two starters - Gen VI starters and Gen I. So if that's important to you, go XY. You can get Charmander/Bulbasaur/Squirtle on ORAS by trading, but it won't be as a starter.

I spent HOURS trying to get just Adamant/Jolly/Timid/Modest synchers when I first started ORAS and I ended up with like 17/20 possible syncers before I got all four. Then last night I needed a Bold one for my Zapdos because it just happened to be one of the ones I didn't catch the first time around. It took me 3 hrs and I caught like 5+ Adamant and Modest synchers each in the interim.

UB-02 Absorption / UB-02 Beauty

Personally I'm going with Sun because I always pick the first or "red" version.

If you really want to whet your appetite and don't want to wait 29 days I think either of ORAS is a pretty fantastic way to start. I'm really biased though; XY didn't really hook me and until OR I haven't been totally hooked since HeartGold in 4th gen.

I've always had Alpha Sapphire, but now I'm finally getting my hands on Omega Ruby to play through that story before I pick up my prepaid copy of Pokemon Sun. However, I could use some help once I get my copy of Omega Ruby in the mail (coming from GameFly) I have a perfect 6 IV Ditto on my copy of Alpha Sapphire that I'd like to have sent over to my copy of Omega Ruby. If anyone could help me out with that, that'd be great.

Well XY you get them at the beginning to actually use, but you're right. I'm talking more about the chance to go from Gym 1 to E4 with Charmander/Squirtle/Bulbasaur.

BTW, there is confirmation (via Polygon I believe) that Ultra Beasts, whatever they are, can be caught. So consider them legendaries I guess.

Oh god.. so many good shiny forms. I NEED that shiny Rowlett line. Both Rocruff evos and the blue/purple bird are wants as well.

I absolutely hate those legendary shinies. Worst color combinations ever for me.

Also... wtf at Persian and the new Dugs? Lol. I would have really liked Persian had his face not been Garfield.

Kinda figured this was going to be the case, but nice to have confirmation. It was always really annoying having to have 2 Pokemon dragged around, and wasting party space, just for loading them up with HMs.

2 other small mechanics changes: Thunder Wave got nerfed to 90% accuracy (additionally remember Paralyze's speed modifier is 50% now), and Confusion's chance to hit self is 33% instead of 50%.

This is easily the best QoL change they're making in this game.

ORASXY related personal news, I have managed to get all starters except for Totodile! Which makes me happy. And Totodile I'll get via beating the elite 4 for a 2nd time. I also by some miracle managed to get a 2nd Volcanion via wonder trade. Level 100 and it came holding a masterball which was even more WTF. I'll take it though, used up my masterball to catch Deoxys in space.

Glad to see Mega Evolutions are not gone entirely. That brings me great relief they aren't abandoning it.

Grabbing all the megastones again post game though, urgh. I hope they make it simple and allow all of them purchase-able by whatever currency the newest Frontier/Maison challenge provides.

Played through the demo and I definitely dig it. I was really hoping the Ultra Beasts wouldn't be capturable though. Was looking forward to genuine boss fights.
