I ended up getting the Venipede, I think it was, from GTS or wonder trade or something.
e: Sweet, thanks.

Working on catching Ditto just to have a 5-6 IV one for easier breeding and caught a shiny Ditto. >.> Really lame that when it transforms as a shiny it doesn't become the shiny version of the Pokemon.![]()
My sister and I both caught shiny dittos a couple weeks ago as well. Within days of each other. Once your search level gets high enough it's easier to get shinies than 5-6 IVs. Which is both funny and sad to me.
Yeah, same happened to me. It's not even usable; HP isn't a maxed IV and doesn't have Imposter.
That said, in like 2 months you'll be able to Hyper Train a Ditto to max IVs anyways so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I settled on a bunch of 4IV ones. Just get one to lv100 to prepare. 2 maybe, if we'll see the return of 2 daycares.
I'm just not entirely sure how easy bottle caps are to get for maxing IVs, since we really haven't got much info on them yet. Might be easier to just have a Ditto for breeding max IVs than getting those bottle caps for maxing stuff. Depending on their difficulty, I'd probably rather have them for legendaries, since catching them with the right IVs and stuff is a huge waste of time, even with the guaranteed 3 max they get now!
edit: I guess you could just max out a Ditto with the Hyper Training in the future though to use for breeding.
Well now with the announcement of the Switch I'm second guessing myself on buying a 3DS for this game. I was hyped because my fiancee wanted to get me the new limited edition one (neither of us have a 3ds) but I'm wondering if it's investing money in a dying system.
Nintendo doesn't usually drop their systems instantly, especially handhelds. With Sun and Moon literally around the corner I'd say the 3DS has at least another 2 years in it.
3DS isn't going anywhere as its the most popular handheld on the market and will alsys have a stream of good games coming for it. But this may directly compete with it for AAA titles depending on the battery life of the handheld part. The trailer hyped the handheld portion of it a lot. Got 90% handheld vs 10% console video in there.
Despite that I expect the handheld portion to have a shit tier battery which doesn't even last as long as the 3DS 4-5 hours of battery,
I would actually be surprised if 3DS carts weren't usable in the Switch.
3DS support isnt going away anytime soon. Its way to profitable for Nintendo to drop directly, even 3+ years from now.
But I, too, have wondered where Nintendo goes with the DS line in the future. The rumors of a bundle version of the Switch have me curious if there isnt a clamshell type peripheral with a 2nd screen on it that can attach to the base screen to make it that much more of a mobile focused system.
The only thing with the Switch is that it doesn't have 2 screens.
Maybe you can turn it sideways and it creates 2 screens for 3DS games!
If you are scared about wasting money, get used "old" 3DS or "old" 3DS XLs at Christmas for cheap. I got my 3DS with a Buy 2 Get 1 free promo last year at GameStop for $200... traded two of them back into Amazon for $170, so I basically came out of it with a DS for $20 plus tax. Chances are high that the prices will be even better this year since the old 3DS are worth less.
Only drawback is you can't play Xenoblade (AFAIK it's the only title that requires the "New" 3DS)
I like the 3DS particularly well over any other handheld/smartphone because I actually enjoy the 3D. Not to mention a current 3DS has quite a decent battery life as well as an amazing selection of games. I also think that 3DS games won't/don't look as good on a larger screen - even the New 3DS is pushing it for some games. They are optimized for smaller screens, especially Pokemon. I wouldn't get the NX over a 3DS. But that's me.
Ahmagahd this rap is killing me
Mimikyu no uta (Mimikyu's Song)
Spoiler: show
Anyone around who could do 2 trades with me for evolution?
Played the demo. Anyone else feel like it's a completely new game? I don't mean new Pokemon game, because duh, I mean just a whole new game. It didn't feel like the normal Pokemon game. It was like playing a side game with Pokemon. I can't wait to start from scratch come release.
Also if you didn't notice, there are timed npcs. They mention an amount of days and if you come back at that time an event happens and you're rewarded. Also, new npcs are showing up.
Thinking of going Moon main now instead of Sun. While I really want Solgaleo over Lunaala, it can wait me thinks.
My planned line up (New Only):
Rowlett (Would love shiny to start...) OR Litten
Rockruff (Shiny)
Jangmo'O
Type: Null
Oricorio (Ghost)
Vulpix (Alolan)
Will throw in old favorites as filler as I go. Despite hulk cat evo.. I still want to go Litten. I might just stop his evolution at stage 2 and never let him evolve.
Mimikyu is going on my team just for that song.
QFT
Also, yeah the demo is supposed to feel like an unconnected game. ORAS demo was apparently the same way; Steven tutors you on a few tutorial challenges not unlike those of SM's demo and that's it.
So far I'm liking Rowlet, Vikavolt, Wimpod's evo, Rockruff sun, the sea cactus thing, and Mudsdale. Rockruff might get the bump for Mimikyu.
e: Today I learned you can Snatch Healing Wish. And it kills you.
Figured it was just a demo only type deal and that will get back to the usual "wake up,leave home, get pokemon" in full. I didn't play the ORAS demo so this is my first. I still look forward to some of the new features in full.
I'm just not on the Mimikyu train I guess. Maybe I'll change my mind if I play with it a bit.
There hasn't been a list of ride pokemon has there? Would love to see what all Pokemon are able to be used for riding besides Taurus and the new horse. If I remember correctly those were the only two shown so far with Sharpedo for surfing.
Tauros, Sharpedo, Charizard (flying and/or soaring?), Lapras (normal speed surf), Mudsdale (rocky terrain like the Rhyhorn in XY), and Stoutland (dowsing machine?) are the ones we know of.
