With the GTS down until Sun & Moon comes out, is it still possible to do battles online via Friend Code? I'm wondering because I'm hoping to have a Doubles battle with a team I've been testing out, but the only people I ever seem to find are people who use nothing but legendary pokemon. I've won a couple of those battles, but it's just extremely annoying.

I don't use legendaries, ever.

And by extension, rating battles (ranked play). The only downer to PGL being down for Gen6 is that I can't check if a GTS went through via web.

Up to >80% of the living dex completed. Sitting through all of the exp gain/level ups and moves trying to be learned, etc. feels like it takes an eternity. Blissey bases are still a life saver though, I know this would be much worse without them.

I've only ever gotten one perfect shiny, and it was a level 55 Steelix and if you're going to hack shinies I can't for the life of me figure out why you'd go with that one.

I'm about to preorder Sun but thinking about buying a new 3DS XL since my gf plays my 3DS all the time now. I am not up to date at all on all the 3DS versions.

should I buy XL or are there any other versions coming out soon?

I don't imagine any newer forms of the 3DS will come out. I enjoy my XL; I think it has about the perfect screen size and weight.
