If you haven't already evolved your Eevee I highly recommend turning it into a Sylveon for Cute Charm. Makes the rate of females 66.6% instead of 12.5%. Alternatively you can try your luck catching an Igglybuff but its a 10% encounter and you need a male which is less common.

So what's the easiest way to get a shiny in this gen? :< I've seen people catching em seemingly more often than usual, and I'm not having any luck. Still just luck factor?

A guy in the dev room on the 2nd island says "your chances of encountering a shiny are about 1/4000". That's a far cry from the old natural rate which was 1/8000 or so. So essentially they made it twice as easy to encounter a shiny, and I suppose it will be that much easier with shiny charm/masuda method (assuming the latter still works).

Damn encounter rate for Jangmo-o is low as fuck, I found one, accidentally knocked it out, now over 150 encounters later and still no second one popped >.> this is getting a bit ridiculous.

Hopefully its catch rate is better than Beldum's, which is .4%. I wasted an entire bag full of balls trying to catch that fucker.

fucking finally caught it after 200 encounters, catch rate seems high in exchange for its shitty encounter rate, took 2 ultra balls at around 25% HP

Planning to start it up later today. I have both versions so any input on version to start with or should I base it off of the game exclusive legendary? I want ice vulpix but if I start moon I know I can trade on BG or GTS easily enough based on how helpful You all have been when I started X

Oh any my main started is going to be roulette. Anybody start with litten or water clown to have any opinions on them for my second game (gotta start it now to get snorlax)

If you haven't already get a Toucannon. Thing is a beast and it gets Beak Blast as soon as it evolves. A single Beak Blast with Sharp Beak held item + the Burn from Lurantis hitting me basically one shot it.



SOS Chaining (where pokemon call for help) increases the shiny chance as the chain gets higher. False Swipe + Adrenaline Orb pretty much guarantees it will call for help every turn though the chance of something showing up is still like 60%~. I did this while trying to get a Female Salandit to evolve and ended up getting a Shiny male with it's Hidden Ability.

Oh okay thanks. Do you just use the adrenaline orb in battle?

Yeah, and you only have to use it once per battle. I believe you are able to buy them from the Pokemon Center shop after beating the Fire trial on the second island but you can find 1 or 2 before that on the ground.

Yes, in battle and it'll affect the current enemy pokemon, so keep that one alive for the boosted rate. Also, for anyone who hasn't played in a while, quick balls are amazing. Not as broken as they once were, but you can still catch most full hp pokemon on the first turn of battle. It used to even work on legendaries, but so far it's had trouble against some evolved pokemon.

Shiny rate has been 1/4096 since X/Y. I'm sure shiny charm and masuda method still exist/work though I haven't seen anything about them yet.

Cubone evolves to Marowak at level 28. Marowak learns Shadow Bone at 27.

You may see the problem here, lol. You just have to take it to the move relearner.

Derp, was thinking you meant cubone learned it at 27 but the lowest level you could catch wild marowak was at 28.

Amazon said my copy was delivered on Sunday, but check my box and nothing there. Hoping that means the UPS received it on Sunday and itll arrive today.
