Oh yeah I suppose that would work. Didn't even think about that. I'll give it a shot.

I have no idea how this IV calc on Serebii works... I put in the stats of one of the Rowlet I hatched to see if it was any good, and I'm not sure what I"m looking at.
HP Atk Def Sp.A Sp.D Spd
0-31 0-31 0-31 0-31 0-31 16-31
Is there an in game checker at all? After you complete the game, right? I'd like to be able to just check a bunch at once instead of having to manually do it. I want to try and get a decent Shiny when it happens so I like to pick the best offspring to replace the current breeder if it happens.
The 0-31 is the possible IV Spread. At level 1 it will be hard to determine what exact IVs it has because it could be a range of possibilities. It will give you level break points for each stat to help it better determine what it's true IV value is so you could go level it up a few times to get a better idea. Honestly though with Hyper Training the only thing IVs really matter for are Hidden Power typing or trying to get a 1 Speed IV for Gyro Ball or something.
Caught a gible with perfect IVs in everything but sp def and of course its modest nature.
Got to post game stuff and was trying to find out where to get more Lucky Eggs beyond the one you get for free and...it doesn't seem like you can get more than one? This is quite disappointing if true. Supposedly Pelipper and Chansey no longer hold them.
Was chaining for a shiny Bagon, was on around chain 50ish or so and switched to Alakazam bc PP was running low on my false swiper.. he gets burned from the first ember and fucking sycn's it onto the 1HP bagon and kills it. 1% spawn rate + 50 chain gone just like that.
So irritated.
After completing the game, a person outside the battle tree will give you access to checking IVs at any pc after hatching 20 eggs. Turns out I had a really good beldum with jolly from one of the eggs hatched. Even with him and some other decent pokemon, battle tree and battle royal are extremely irritating. Never have I wanted to throw my 3ds against a wall so bad. Anyone have tips on beating them consistently? I would really like to get bottle caps from 30 wins in battle tree everyday as it seems like the easiest source.
This Judge feature being added in your PC is quite amazing instead of having to talk to an NPC for every single Pokemon. >.>
Still wish you could just see specific EV/IV stuff in the summary menu -> Y button thing they added. While it does show EV progress, it could just have the numbers to make it a bit more helpful! Also, I find it kind of odd that there is nothing saying you can press Y in the Pokemon summary menu unless I missed that tutorial somewhere. I just remember seeing someone mentioning that outside the game before I even knew about it.
I don't think they are that common from Fishing, I've only seen one so far. But who knows, I could have just got really unlucky lol.
Didn't know which pokemon game thread to post this one in. But fuck Go, so here is a fun magic trick
The trick itself is pretty easy to figure out, but the twist at the end is fun
This was delightful.
As for bottle caps, fishing is a pretty decent way to get them. My greatest success catching them so far was Poni Breaker Coast and Seafolk Town. You can also win either silver or gold bottle caps with the Treasure Hunt lottery booth in festival plaza. Another way to get them is with the Poke Pelago Isle Aphun, take Path for Rare Treasure Hunting and the pool of items is very small, so your chance of bottle cap gettage is quite high.
As for battle tree, apparently terrain/drizzle teams are rocking it. Tapu Koko and Pelipper are two I'm hearing about a lot right now when it comes to strong teams.
Would you say "probably every other session" high? Cause even if it's like 1/10 that's still way better than hunting for shards about 30 times to get potentially only 4 bottle caps. Is there even another source of shards? If not, why is this horrendously bad trade ratio (30 samecolor shards = 1 bottle cap?) even a thing.
No other source of shards that I know of. Bottle caps, I get them a fair amount. It's just RNG like everything else, so I suppose it's going to depend on your personal luck. For example, I had to hunt Feebas for days before I finally caught one, but I'm sure there are people who can fish them up with fair accuracy. My luck so far has been pretty good with bottle caps, but I've never been hunting them specifically, I've only pulled them up incidentally while fishing pokemon for my dex. I'm sure the rate of fishing them is higher when you do so at a rippled spot though.
Wait, so those shards your pokemon bring you from the mine are more than npc fodder? Woops. I only sold 3. Just figured it was another way to make money because this game pretty much throws money at you. Which is nice. No more barely able to buy pokeballs to start.
