Starting to breed Modest Porygons if any of you guys one shoot me a PM.
Anyone around to help me evolve my Porygon?
I have some 4IV Timid Snow Warning Vulpix's with Freeze Dry and Moonblast if anyone needs.
I might take you up on that... save me some time of breeding those into one.
Wasn't Freeze Dry post pokebank only?
Also, isn't there any other way to get a Razor Claw other than capturing one of the Kommo-o family or stealing it from them? Serebii doesn't list any other source, but I wanted to make sure before chaining Jangmo-os looking for one to get a Weavile.
Smeargle. Serebii is really good for checking egg-chains as long as you also check who's available pre-bank. The non-Smeargle method requires bank as you can't otherwise do (Aurorus)>Lapras>Delibird>Vulpix.
And yeah, Razor Claw and Razor Fang both suck to farm this gen.
Ah, Smeargle, of course! Speaking of whom, I need to catch a few to make the ditto farming team. I have several good 3 perfect IV dittos waiting for pokebank to open, but this is my chance for a few more, with a chance of 4 or more perfect IVs.
Only Kangashkhan and vanillite/luxe to catch before starting breeding and evolving to complete the alolan pokédex!... and then maybe I'll breed a competitive team or two, I always say I won't do that next time, but here I am, thinking of dirty sets again.
Nope you can get it with a Smeargle.
What you have to do is catch a Snorut and level it to 42 so it evolves to Glalie, once evolved it will immediately want to learn Freeze Dry.
Have a False Swipe Pokemon and find a Smeargle.
Use False Swipe on the Smeargle and then Switch To Glalie. (If Smeargle called for help on the switch kill the new Smeargle.)
Once your Glalie is in wait for Smeargle to call for help again(or use an orb) and make sure it is a Male Smeargle.
Now that a Male Smeargle showed up you kill the Smeargle that you False Swiped earlier with Freeze Dry, then the other Smeargle will Sketch and Learn Freeze Dry.
Catch that Smeargle. Breed with female Vulpix. Done.
I did the same with Moonblast.
By the way I am still looking for a Popplio for pokedex filler and I'm interested in a Slush Rush Sandshrew and a Shieldon since I don't have moon.
My Ditto-chain team right now is
Klefki or Munchlax, holding Smoke Ball, only move is Recycle
Persian, holding Leppa Berry, has Switcharoo (any Trick or Switcharoo user works here)
Parasect, Return / Spore / Substitute / False Swipe
Turn 1: Let Ditto transform into Klef/Munch.
T2/3: Switch to Persian, give it the Leppa Berry
T4+: Switch to Parasect, sub up, use Adrenaline Orb, False Swipe and begin KOing the new Dittos
Refill PP for Return (or Brick Break or whatever) as needed. Spore the new one after 30+ kills, KO the Klef/Munch Ditto, throw balls.
If you want to muck around with Ditto of a specific nature, have a fainted Synchronize at the front and have your Parasect be the nature you want Ditto to be. This part is annoying so I just play the nature lottery for now.
Smeargle is technically better because you can adapt it to chain things that aren't Ditto (Soak / Spore / False Swipe / attack), but this is just the lazy method.
I'm going for the AFK method because I prefer to wait a bit more (like, 30 minutes from the moment I start chaining) instead of paying attention, so I'll use a grimer to make suicidal dittos and do the dirty work for me :D And I'll just use Tapu Koko as my false swiper, as he has been already (TWave/False Swipe/Nature's Madness/Return, with the Z-Power crystal).
Sorry to interrupt the pokemon eugenics program talk here, but I'm still kinda new to the game and haven't played seriously since Red.
Could someone post a screen cap of what the Five Star Blue Dye and Purple Dye shops color outputs are like? Trying to just get my trainer look down at the moment.
I am starting to breed Jolly Slush Rush Sandshrews if anyone needs.
I'd definitely take one and if you have any of those Vulpixes left. Not sure when you're active though.
Just for clarification, when chaining Called for Help pokemon, I don't have to keep alternating which pokemon I kill, right? I can just keep the same one alive?
And what's a good estimation on how many I need to go through before I have a good chance at getting 4IVs?
I forgot to mention these Sandshrews have Icicle Crash as well.
Bit belated but finally found it again: http://imgur.com/a/Xh9as
