This is me basically. I put together a pretty balanced team (2 physical attackers, 2 special attackers, 2 tanks) and play a doubles match and get killed by someone using a team full of legendary Pokemon.

I'm one of those guys who refuses to use any legendary Pokemon because I feel that using non-legendary Pokemon makes you actually come up with strategies rather than simply overpowering your opponent with OP legendaries.

I'm also probably one of the only people to use Pyukumuku on their team. I've yet to battle anyone else who uses one.

I've seen it once or twice, but Pyukumuku is pretty rare. I run a Lurantis on my team and have yet to run into anyone else that uses one too.

You gotta have some kinda gimmick to beat that stuff in doubles, but it's pretty cool when it works out (and is why I enjoy doubles/triples waaay more than singles, you can actually win reliably against much higher tier stuff).

I run an Oranguru with Trick Room/Instruct/Taunt (for Xerneas) and a Contrary Lurantis with Leaf Storm/Giga Drain/HP Ice and a Focus Sash. It's a little gimmicky, but tears through a lot of stuff when people aren't ready for it to get to +4 in one turn and start one-shotting everything that doesn't resist.

Yeah it's much harder for something to be overwhelmingly dominant in doubles, which makes even game breaking mons like Mega-Rayquaza beatable.

In OR/AS I had a pretty solid team for doubles. An Umbreon tank with Wish/Curse/Baton Pass and a Prankster Klefki with Safeguard and Swagger. I'd use Wish > Curse rinse & repeat on Umbreon while on Klefki I opened with Safeguard, then I spammed Swagger on my Umbreon to boost it's attack as high as it could go, then I would Baton Pass into my Fake Out/Mach Punch/Bullet Punch Hitmontop for the sweep.

However, now that Prankster no longer works on Dark types, I'm considering what Pokemon to replace that Umbreon with that can tank some hits and get buffed up before Baton Pass, but other than Glaceon or the other Eevee-lutions, I can't think of anything else that would work.

IIRC, Dark's Prankster immunity only applies for enemies. "Friendly" Prankster will still work for you, though I can't say for sure friendly Prankster Swagger will work.

Oh REALLY?!? Unfortunately, I don't use PokeBank so there's no way I'd be able to send my OR/AS team over unless someone was willing to take them from my OR/AS via trade and use their PokeBank to get them to Sun & Moon and then return them to me on Sun & Moon.

I'd love to test that out though. If it does indeed work, then my old OR/AS battle tactic would come back into play. I'd just have to replace my Aegislash with something else since I hear that Aegislash was banned from competitive play?

I just tweeted the question to @JoeMerrick aka the guy who runs serebii.net and he said that "Friendly" Prankster Swagger does indeed work. The "immunity" is as you said, it only applies to opposing Dark type Pokemon.

Outside of the blanket ban on high stat total legendaries (Mewtwo, cover legends etc), those "bans" only ever apply to Smogon rules and simulator battles. Anything in the games proper is fair game, salty people be damned. If you can use it in Battle Tree, you can use it period. Outside of Championship (aka VGC), Special, and Online Competition rules anyways which are all varying degrees of availability (so far a lot of Alola-only) and often no Megas.

Well, I wouldn't mind replacing the Aegislash with an Alola region Pokemon. I've got a pretty damn good Mudsdale I've been using in Battle Tree that performs very well. It's Brave nature as well with 5 IVs (no good speed) and I maxed Attack and Sp. Def EVs since it's already pretty naturally tanky to begin with + Stamina Defense boosts whenever it gets hit. It can last a good long while in battles that can drag on for a bit and I think it would work extremely well being something I switch into via Baton Pass after a bit of setup buffs.

Is anyone here able to provide me with either a Hitmonchan or a Tyrogue? I'm looking to rebuild portions of my OR/AS team on Sun & Moon but I'm having a hard time finding what I'm looking for on the GTS.

I could also use an Eevee with Wish and Curse if possible. I've been trying to catch Alomolola <sp?> in order to Sketch a Wish onto a Smeargle but I'm not having any luck on that front either.

I was, however, able to find a Klefki and a Honedge on the GTS so I'm good there. But if anyone can hook me up with any of the above (Hitmonchan, Tyrogue or Eevee) that would be awesome. I can return the favor with Cyndaquil, Mudbray, Pyukumuku, or Mareanie. I've bred a bunch of them and they all come with very good IV spreads.

Funny you mention that actually, last time I was playing this I was trying to get a team working around Slowking with Trick Room/Swagger + Own Tempo Mudsdale. Works pretty similar to your Umbreon setup, and tends to throw people off since nobody really expects Mudsdale without Stamina. Think the only issue I remember having was finding a good backup for things Mudsdale can't really handle, like Fini/Bulu.

The way I have my Mudsdale set up, it is an extremely rare occasion when it gets OHKO'd. I maxed it's Sp. Def EV's and I also use Assault Vest, which makes it very tough to take down unless it gets hit with Toxic and lasts a few too many turns.

I can give you both the tyrogue and eevee. Is there any particular nature and/or ability in particular that you need?

Adamant nature Tyrogue with the Steadfast ability (becomes Technician on Hitmontop @ level up) would be great. If it's also possible to give it Mach Punch & Bullet Punch that would also be awesome. If not, that's OK, I can evolve one into a Hitmonchan and make it "re-learn" those moves then breed it myself. The end goal is a full priority move Technician Hitmontop.

As for the Eevee, any defensive based nature is fine. It's going to be an Umbreon tank once I'm done leveling it up as an Eevee until it learns Baton Pass.

Random question. If you do Battle Royal in the 50 level cap, will a banked 100 Pokemon that is synced down obey you before you are champion?

Obeying trainer is a thing that only comes into play for ingame fights that are not synced, basically normal playthrough stuff. Battle Tower-like activities (not that they're available much before all badges but) and any online play ignores "badge" rules.

Basically if it's a format where you aren't allowed to use items or switch in response to an opponent's new pokemon, obeying is guaranteed.

I just got to the Royal Ave. with the 4 person free-for-all tower. I want to start breeding some good quality Pokemon, so I was wondering if I could use banked Pokemon to grind BP there so I can get a new Destiny Knot and Everstone.

You can get destiny knot pretty quickly if you get a few 'mons with pick up like alolan Meowth and fight crap. And you can get 1 everstone in the Trainer's school on the first island, or off rogenrola's in pokepelago. Or Boldores on Poni island but that's pretty late in the game.
