It's fights like this I really wish I had native Boon or LH. I feel like I'm one of those or one ability slot away from having it work.

Yeah I can't pass the 50% mark atm, dmg is too high.

If not i might 'cheap' and Egg selphie to 80 when her MC2 is out and use Trabia light for AOE heal, instead of HH or w/e i'm not sure anymore

Multi hit soul breaks are the only way to go. I saved them for the flares and just watched the gauge.

Phew, 1/1 on Ultimate. Nearly died, the 3 turn penta was at 0 turns left, no abilities, had to start melee'ing with mages. Trinity SSB + Fenrir RW were the MVPs. Had to burn 2 AoE heals, 3 SG, 2 Boons and they still wore right before the end of the fight.

I'm debating eating one of each flare just to keep hones... I just wiped at 1% because I ran out of steam...

It was my best run after switching to a mage meta:

Rinoa, Terra, Yuna, Red XIII (with mental break), and Yshtolawall

    Went w/ the following:

    lenna: curaja r5/protectga r2
    cloud: magic break r3/lifesiphon r4(bssb)
    rinoa: meteor r2/ruinga r5
    redxiii: armor b/d r3/ full break r2(ssb)
    yuffie: fire veil r5/firaga r5

    edit: hymn for rw

Between yuffie/rinoa/cloud I never actually targeted the creepers. Had to wait on the last set of creepers before I killed Bahamut. Had to reset once when he decided to flare almost immediately for 4k.

    In case this helps anyone.

Fenrir was my RW. I had SG, Blade Beam, Boon, HofF, and Wishing Star. Used Fenrir on 2nd Giga / 2nd Pentas, otherwise I slowly used AoEs for Creepers and Flares.

If I were to change anything, for my build specifically, I'd swap out Ruinga for a nuke, same with Protect. Bahamut and Co doesn't really hit hard enough to warrant the extra protect and with Blade Beam, having that much AoE was actually hurting me as opposed to helping.

So you only kill 6 and the last 2 will die when bahamut dies (if they are up on the field)
Wasn't true for my first win.

Anyway, the trick for my second go was to take my time early on. Kill the first set without bringing him to charge, focusing more on just letting Tyro build SG. Since first charge is usually the 5 turn type, dogs should spawn soon into it unless you waited long enough prior. The rebound damage from killing the charge also helps taking out the dogs and saving some ability uses. Repeated this to get to the second charge and third wave. Since it'll probably be a little shy of 50% at this point, going more all out on Bahamut can work since he'll likely be working on another charge when the final needed dog wave comes.

RNG being what it is, though, him choosing a the 3 charge could bone ya. Those tend to favor high damaging SBs if you've got them, but as noted earlier, he loves to deplete 2 turns on them before you can get a character to act from a low ATB. Pain in the ass, but DeNA gonna DeNA.

Do you have a summon other than Ifrit? Would it help you if I switched to Lulu for Focus?

It seems like you could use a melee in there to deal some DOT.

I tried it with Cloud but it was even worse on DPS.

I was using Ifrit because of the Creepers, but can do R4 Alex or R3 Maduin

Phew, oneshot Champion but this was rough.

Went with a full physical team so damage was pretty high, I actually had to slow down near the end (and eat 3 Flares <_<) to let the last 2 Creepers pop.
    Setup was:
-Red > Magic Breakdown R4/ Full Break R2; Master Fist RM (also had the AoE heal from Precious Watch but I never used it)
-Tifa > Power Break R4/ Lifesiphon R3; Mako Might RM (to start with the attack boost)
    -Sephiroth> Flame Blossom R3/ Launch R4; Dragoon's Determination RM
-Vanille> Curaja R5/ Shellga R2; Doctor Mog's Teachings RM (to open with Oerba's Boon)
-Lightning> Bladeblitz R3/ Dismissal R3; Self Sacrifice RM
    Stoneskin II RW
Lightning's SSB didn't help much, my best DPS was Seph with no uniques but with the attack buff he can easily hit the damage cap or get very close. Tifa was the key here, her party buff really helped with damage.

Accidentally didn't master first time because I did some physical attacks with Yuna to build her SB which I shouldnt have. Lost 2 in action and damage.

    Redid it and mastered fine.

    My setup

    Spoiler: show

    Hymn RW

My more aggressive strat with Cid instead of Yuna and BSSB RW didn't quite help me live.

Edit: Just noticed I accidentally left Sazh in the front. Oops.

This has to be the weirdest of ultimates... it's the hardest ( debatable ) but with the most 1/1 or 1/2s

I don't think its the hardest mechanic wise. Just the damage needed really makes it depend on your level of synergy.

    HotF RW

    R4 on jas
    R3 of Meteor/Ruinga
    R2 on Full Break
    R4 on Mental Break
    R4 on Summons

I purposefully ate the last flare to the face to save hones, but he killed Y'shtola because she wasn't very high HP because I used time to SS2.
